This company is relatively new. The owner recruits inspectors, while his wife manages the office aspect. He recruited using Monster.com. I answered the ad.

I was told I would be working in the county in which I live as well as 4 surrounding counties, but would not be more than 45 miles from my home. I was also given a "trial run" route to see if my pictures and forms were acceptable. I was told I would be paid $50.00 for that within a week if the work was deemed acceptable.

The $50.00 did come. However, it was four weeks later with my first two weeks of pay. Also, before my first week was even half over, I was asked to travel to an area over 60+ miles from my home, which I was not familiar with and was going to get paid only the same amount as the areas close by. There was no gas allowance built in either. I declined after the first day to continue to drive that distance.

After that, they did give me inspections closer to home, but the volume was so scarce, that it was not profitable. When I complained about that, I was told I would get more volume and be in Columbus. I did get more volume, but the distance was over 45 miles, and the distance between homes being inspected was so great, that the pay was not acceptable.

The owner asked me to stick with it, in the beginning for at least a month. I stayed that long and none of the promises came true. So, I gave him a week's notice and was willing to get the inspections assigned to me current and up to date through the week after my resignation date. He attempted to harass me and bully me into staying, and when I declined, they have held my last check which is over $600.00. They have indicated they will not be paying me for that due to the fact that they didn't "approve" of the way I left.

Allied Field Services did mail me a check a week or so after I filed the ripoff report on here. The matter was handled to my satisfaction, just not in the time frame I was told.

Below is a transcript from emails between Monica and our company.  She quit the next day with no notice given and did not complete any more orders.  She was paid with check number 3230 in the full amount of $601.  The check was cut 2 weeks after her last order.  We had to have time to process her orders and make sure none were returned by our clients.  Monica was informed that you would need a GPS and a laptop to be the most efficient with your time and gas.  She had neither and didn't print out forms with instructions on them either.  She relied on only driving directions from a mapping program.  Without the basic technology to perform the job, an inspector will not be able to complete as many orders in a day, and as a result will make less money.

From Monica

Three things have transpired since I started working with you guys. 1) My husband's group health plan became unaffordable for him to include the other family members. 2) I had no idea someone was checking references me before they came to me with a prospective offer, which came today with health insurance & 3) My husband's territory with his job in sales just expanded to include Union City & Peachtree City/Newnan. Because of these things & before you give me any additional Columbus zips, I will need a day to pray about this, because only God knows the future, from my perspective. I will continue to do my route as I contemplate this decision. I just wanted to be upfront with you. I will let you know what comes from this as soon as I have confirmation. Thank you.

I understand we will get it worked out. You will have new zips in 1-2 days.

Subject: Columbus zip codes

Good morning, Philip,

Just a quick question that I will need to know the answer to by end of business today....At some point in the near future, will I get any additional Columbus zip codes? The reason I am asking is because with the ones in West Point, Pine Mountain & Reynolds thrown in my current mix, the most I have netted in one day after mileage/gas is $60.00. So, if I will be getting ones closer together soon (Midland is helping) that will help offset the ones that are a good distance from each other, I would like to know so that I can make an informed decision on where I go from here. I am loving the work, but there has to be a certain level of profit that goes along with that. I will call you later. Thank you.
