My suggestion is to stop talking with these people. The next thing is to get online with your attorney Generals office and file a complaint against them. Provide them the bills and proof. Cross out your account numbers. Then you need to file a complaint with the attorney Generals office where this collection agency is located. The final step is to file a compaint with the federal trade commission. Stop talking with these people. detail your complaint and for all the hassle. They cancel the balance. Stop answering the phone or let it go to the answering machine. Otherwise, Pay the 25.00 to change your phone number. If you do that do not give it to any business. They sell it. No doctors, lawyers, stores, warranty cards. No ONE!!!!! never tell anyone calling what your name is.
