Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In May, 2007. We made a payment plan with another Collections agency representing Sprint. One week later, after this plan was set for automatic withdrawal, we received a call from Allied Interstate claiming that they are the collections agency and we need to settle with them and ignore the other agency.

So we made a plan , to pay $52 plus a convenience fee of $5.95 per month till the amount of $300 (plus) is paid off.

The first payment was made June 25. The second payment was taken out TWICE in June... causing our account to go into overdraft... TWICE.

Upon calling ALLIED, they told us it was their error and needed to see our bank statement to prove the overdraft. So I took a cab to Office Depot to fax. Left Office Depot while on the phone with 'NELLY' of Allied Interstate.

She called me back at home to inform me that I needed to re-fax the document, because they did not have fax paper in the machine. I told NELLY that it is costing me too much to correct an error they made and we simply did not have those funds then. She told me "It's up to you" and hung up on me. I was livid. I had to borrow money AGAIN and take another cab to the location. This time I stayed and waited for a confirmation from ALLIED.

They informed me that tha fax was not properly functioning and needed to send the fax again. We tried calling the supervisor and to no avail.

To further aggravate the matter, we had to use our atm card of another account to pay the fax bill (we were that broke!) and that too went into overdraft, as the money was slated for another bill's payment.... more hundreds gone because of Allied.

The following day we faxed it again, and were told that the check will be sent to correct the situation.

It gets worse! One week later, apparently they assumed that we would not have other bills to pay from this checking acount, no check ! But we got a call from NELLY non-the-less... Nelly called for us to set up the next automatic payment July 25. We asked how can we do this without our money back in our account... they informed us that the check was not even set out!!!!

Woww. I need to do something, Need them to learn a lesson!! They cannot take advantage of a young couple trying to place the right amount of pennies together to pay all bills ontime. We have been doing great since our marriage and now this has put a black mark on us in the eyes of our bank. I hate that!!! (I am the wife)

TODAY we received a call from ALLIED INTERSTATE informing us to set up a payment plan for the balance of $300 plus. I was shocked!!!! I told the caller that we have a plan which was messed up by ALLIED. She didn't care. She simply said it needed to be paid and the payment plan was cancelled..

So I went on the internet to google Allied Interstate. And it led me to a host of complaints and this site.

We want something done. We need our credit straight.

You need to file complaints with the attorney General of your state and where this agency is located

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, July 17, 2007

My suggestion is to stop talking with these people. The next thing is to get online with your attorney Generals office and file a complaint against them. Provide them the bills and proof. Cross out your account numbers. Then you need to file a complaint with the attorney Generals office where this collection agency is located. The final step is to file a compaint with the federal trade commission. Stop talking with these people. detail your complaint and for all the hassle. They cancel the balance. Stop answering the phone or let it go to the answering machine. Otherwise, Pay the 25.00 to change your phone number. If you do that do not give it to any business. They sell it. No doctors, lawyers, stores, warranty cards. No ONE!!!!! never tell anyone calling what your name is.
