Allied Interstate sent you a letter b/c your credit card company sent you to collections. Whether it be by mistake or not, you cannot blame Allied Interstate for sending you a letter or contacting you. Yes, they probably pulled your credit report b/c this is normal for a collection agency to do so. I have worked for a collection agency for about 5 years and that is the first thing we do when we get an account. I would be more upset with your credit card company. On the letter you sent back there are instructions on what to do if you dispute this which is what you should have done then just sending it back with fraud written all over it.
