ALR is a fraudulent company selling fake insurance benefits, they were just on the News Channel 5 in San Francisco

http://cbs5.com/consumer/alr.health.coverage.2.1691362.html they are trying to cover up their taking from the un healthy for personal gain and offering no benefits with fake press about the company http://www.prurgent.com/2010-05-24/pressrelease96824.htm

Association for Lifestyle Reform (ALR) is a member-based association that provides educational information to its members and access for its members to a number of lifestyle and discount benefits.

Sadly, your posting stating that ALR sells "fake insurance benefits" is false and baseless.  ALR does not sell nor market any insurance products.  If you had taken the time to research what ALR is about, you would have confirmed that what you had posted is completely untrue.

What ALR does offer is a wide array of non-insurance services and products that do provide many Americans much needed products, services and discounts such as vitamins, entertainment, travel, pre-paid legal, vacation packages, car rental, etc.

In the past, ALR contracted with outside marketing companies that sold a limited benefit plan along with the ALR membership.   The news story you refer to reported by channel 5 in San Francisco pertains to a member who had issues with the limited benefit plan, NOT ALR products.   The San Franciso resident referred to in the article was sold the limited benefit plan by an outside marketing firm that ALR ceased accepting enrollments from due to consumer complaints.  If any ALR member elects to enroll in the limited health plan, they are sent a complete packet which clearly defines the benefits of the health plan.  If after receiving their packets, the member has any questions or concerns, they are directed to contact ALR.  To the best of our knowledge, this member was satisfied with her plan until almost 2 years after her effective date.  This member had an issue with a particular claim that was handled by the administrator for the limited benefit plan... NOT ALR, or ALR products and benefits.

ALR strongly believes this post is generated by a disgruntled marketing firm that ALR terminated it's relationship with due to questionable marketing practices.

Should any member have further concerns, please contact our customer service department at 877.378.9240, Monday - Friday from 7 am - 3:30 Pacific time.

Thank you,

ALR Customer Service
