One, do NOT go into a brand new talent agency. I made that mistake being hopeful thinking that will be a good start. Just don't. I ventured forth, even though I do have some film set experience freelancing, I wanted to go further up with an actual agent; many of the people that were there either were young, very new to anything in the film/acting/modeling industry, or those whose first language is not English. There was a notice on Backstage for an open talent call: [.backstage.com/casting/open-call-for-actors-models-266687/]. No mention of Alycia, but the gentleman Angel as the Office Director. [If you go online apparently there is a video and mention of him being a former software enginneer turned-now-talent-agent!] They do have other office staff there, total maybe of 3, including one other one named Joanne. It's not until after the waiting and application process, they take you into a room to take your face and profile photos along with your measurements and then seat you in another room where everyone waits for everyone to be accounted for. Long and behold, a Victoria Secret's Fashion Show video is being played with some music in the background - mind you,

I'm thinking, from YouTube? I would never have thought I would be walking into a talent agency with that playing in front of men, women, and teen minors with their guardian. If it were circulating photos or even a video of runway fashion, okay. Maybe even a photo of a woman/man in lingerie from their portfolio would be acceptable. But that? What gave it away more was the eraseboard that said to "turn phones off" and to please be quiet - which makes sense because once they feed you this person's name and company, you would want to do your research then and there and chat amongst yourselves about it, or from those who already know of her.

Once everyone is in, Angel now starts talking about Alycia and their connection to the musical Phantom of the Opera and how he got to go backstage and meet the cast all because of her (he pretty much is hooked to this story). They then play a 34 minute video from Alycia Kaback introducing herself and her company, VIP Ignite...etc, etc. about herself, and basically saying basics about the film/modeling agency that everyone mostly knows (which photo is appropriate for a headshot, a runway model is a certain height and size, etc.), and that she now has Angel to help her open this newly minted talent agency in Miami and claiming that with this co-dependent relationship between them, they can help you travel and get jobs. She even mentions that this career path is pretty much about money, and if you don't have any (like paying for the $15 parking garage ticket to this open talent call) then they can't work with you.

Briefly, without being too specific about it, they did say they have the rights tools for you to succeed, such as the right photographer, which might cost up to $435, and so forth. After all is said and done, Angel and Joanne take turns doing interviews next door. I guess if they like you enough, they'll tell you to come back for a 2nd interview, if possible the next day. I went home, did some research and declined via their automatic email calendar scheduler. The woman's name is everywhere on many if not every past and current talent scam. Her recent one was VIP Talent Connect and, if you don't believe me, type in that website and Magma's...they look IDENTICAL because they are one in the same, much like the person handling the business of it all, Alycia. I did this to warn others who might be interested in this new Magma Talent agency in Miami. Don't risk it. It's not worth it.
