I live in Dallas TX and worked for an electric company. The first step is to request a supervisor. This of course is only possible if they don`t keep hanging up on you. If you cannot get any satisfaction from a supervisor, I advise writing to the president of the company and also (most importantly) contacting the PUCT. PUCT stands for The Public Utility Commision of Texas. They are the body that oversees the utility companies. This goes for water, gas etc. as well as electric. They have a website and an 800 number. If you talk to a supe, threaten to go to the PUCT. This usually scares them because they (utility companies) can get fined ASTRONOMICAL fines for screwing the public. I hope this helps!

Allen,
Did you file with the Better Business ? the BBB
I looked and I did not see an Allen in hte Complaints. Ambit Energy has an A rating.
I would file there and have a mediator work on your issue...
Oh and what is your customer number I would like to investigate and work on your issue.
good day

My wife is an Ambit Energy Consultant, and I just wanted to throw in my two cents. We have 41 customers so far, without a single complaint, as well as a close personal friend, who has been on Ambit Energy for more than 2 years without a single complaint. Besides the fact that we've not ever heard any complaint until this web site, the reports we here are extremely positive. First of all, we are in a position where we must call customer service on behalf of our customers on a regular basis, and we have been blown away, thus far, with the efficiency of Ambit's customer service. Secondly, complaints we are familiar with, are concerning other energy companies who charge fees that nobody knows what those fees are for. With Ambit there is only the KWH usage and the tax. That's it, nothing else. No hidden fees. I'm not saying the complaint is not real, but I feel that it is not representative of the company as a whole.

I want to thank to everyone, who provided information about Ambit Enrgy. Thanks to you I didn't sign the contract with Ambit. And I was almost ready to do so (as in Allen's case a personal friend recomended me to switch to Ambit). Thank you, it wasn't the first time ripoffreport saved me from becoming a victim of a scam. I'm Ron, and I'm a representative marketing consultant with Ambit Energy. I have nothing to gain (financially) from helping you, but being an employee of the company, I would like more information about your case, and would like to help you. I know there are 2 sides to every story, and would like to hear your side first. Please contact me directly and either let me know if I can help resolve your situation, or if Ambit Energy has already resolved this. Being aware of Ambit's satisfaction guarantee, this looks like a big misunderstanding. Thank You, Ron http://energy411.joinambit.com <-----You can find my contact info here.
