There was actually a few sales pitches.. One of the most effective was to call the marketing dept, or somewhere else that would make sence... tell the company that there was a shipping delay and that their cd-rom would be arriving shortly... then we would say to avoid any more shipping errors im going to transfer you to my quality control department so they can verify that your address and shipping information is correct... then we fill out the information, pass it on to our quality control guy... they call and inform the customer that the call is being recorded... and it goes something like this. "Hi, my name is ____ from the quality control department at ambus registry. This is just a quick call to confirm on your order, and insure that your listing information is correct. Now I have your last named spelled as ____, is this correct? ... and your address as ____ ... ok, perfect.. your copy of the american business registry on cd-rom, invoiced at $399 should be arriving within 10 business days, once again thank you for ordering with ambus registry, and have a great day." pretty simple little scam... there were several other variations of the sales pitch, and even a legit 30-day trial sales pitch that bombed horribly in our collections department.. but this is probably the one most of you heard. However, both calls were ALWAYS made to the same person...
