AMERICA ONLINE ripoff mistreated and ripped off and computer killers Internet
I have used AOL for over 5 years even before getting a computer of my own 3 years ago. I used it at my place of business. Last October, after receiving information about the 8.0 upgrade and how I could download it for FREE, I took advantage and downloaded it.
After about a week, the computer would just shut itself down and restart on it's own ONLY while online. Then it became more frequent and started restarting at any time I was using the computer. It had worked perfectly from the day I got it until then (October). I called AOL about it and got the runaraound. Talking to techs and managers and their managers about the situation got me nowhere! They said it was my fault!
I didn't have to download their new version, unlike it said in their advertizement. To make a long story short, my computer hard drive eventually died (3 weeks after the initial download). Thank goodness for family...(My cousin is a computer tech). He had an extra hard drive/tower.
DO NOT USE AOL AS YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER...my cousin informed me. He has heard 100's of horror stories about AOL and their crappy service and non customer satisfaction.
AOL IS A BIG RIP OFF INTERNET COMPANY...THERE ARE MANY OTHERS TO CHOOSE FROM ! Don't let your computer die like mine did!
