Complaint Review: American Auction Co - Phoenix Arizona

I recommend using ANY other Auction house as a vendor (seller). They still have not paid me from my auction in November, and now it's January!!! They put me off for weeks insisting they mailed check to me, but only after my investigation did i find out they had sent it to the wrong address in another city!!! The person at that mystery address took my check to a check cashing store and must have used a fake ID to cash it. Very suspicious, since for weeks American Auction insisted they sent the check too my address? Only after catching them in a lie with a copy of the cashed check did they admit they sent it to the wrong address! Does it end there? No! Would they reissue a check? No! I had to drive over 50 miles to their bank and fill out a fraud report and have it notarized.

I then went down to American Auction and they still wouldn't issue me a replacement check?!? You would think it would be a "no Brainer" since it was obviously their error and their bank assured me it would be reversed back to their account, yet they act like it's my problem and management won't talk to me in person. I gave them one more chance to avoid bad reviews and a negative report with BBB and a civil suit that I'm filing tomorrow, and told them exactly what to expect, but the person in charge of the office refused to talk to me? However, I was then handed the phone with someone in customer service in Califonia. She asked for me to "hold-off" for one more day so she could try to so something, and i agreed, but told them, no longer than that.

That was yesterday and i still haven't heard back from anyone so this review is the first step in my long list of responses in getting my money returned. This review isn't directed at the workers in the warehouse, auction, or intake that have been very friendly and professional, and many, incidentally have been equally dismayed at my treatment thus far. This review is directed at management that refuses to talk to me and a few office workers that i recorded "out right" lying to me about the status of my payment and the address it was sent to. They owed me a smaller check ($1800) after this incident and thank God i picked it up in person because it still had the same wrong "mystery" address on it a month after this incident, so they never corrected their error!!! Bottom line, they owe me thousands of dollars and have done nothing to make their mistake right. Seller beware.

There are many good competing alternatives in this large local market that actually have much larger crowds that make your items worth selling, and not just selling to the first opening bidder for $10 !!! Hundreds of items went only for the opening bid and i lost thousands and thousands of dollars. This is the absolute worst place to sell anything and there bidder pool is very tiny and online they promised 30k registered bidders. Ha! Maybe one or two during auction and everything there goes for nothing! They rushed us into selling a large lot from a warehouse and promised they would as least dust off items. Nothing was clean and Very valuable items went for few dollars. I had over30 electric guitars of various top name brands, and they all sold for an average of $20-$40 each! 5000 dvd movies went for pennies each!

Large professional Peavey speakers went for$10. 100's of action figures nib went for pennies on the dollar. It all makes me sick to think about it, but tho never get paid from them is infuriating!!!! I should have just donated everything rather than giving it away minus their 25% commission that they didn't earn by giving hundreds of items away for$10 !!! Every seller has had this problem there. I wish i would have read their reviews on here, Google, and Yelp before selling here. Also, be careful to not let them fee you to death. There's fees for everything!!! Run from this businesses! I'm filling a case in small claims court tomorrow for the thousands they still owe me! You've now been warned... Make this warning mean something! My loss, your gain!
