American Circulation Enterprises ACE Cannot get refund upon cancellation of subscription. Michigan City, Indiana
On May 25, 2010, I purchased 2 magazine subscriptions for my grandsons. I was told we would start receiving in approx. 6 weeks. As of 9/27/10. I had only received one of the magazines. I called and spoke to Scott, explained my problem and requested a refund. He said, "no problem, I will process and you should receive your check in 7-10 days." I called back on 10/12/10 because I still had not received my check. I spoke with a young lady. She said she did see my request but would process again and I should receive my check for $65.00 in 7-10 days. Still not check.
I called 11/1/10 and requested to speak to a manager/supervisor. Scott answered my call and asked what he could do. I recounted the details and asked why I was not receiving my refund. He said they didn't have the money yet from ACE (American Circulation Enterprises). I then asked who I was calling. He said they were contracted by ACE to be the Customer Service Representative. I asked for the telephone number for ACE direct. He said they didn't have one. I checked on the internet and could not find a web site or other listed phone number. I check the BBB and they are not a member and there had been 77 complaints filed against them. Basically, I was told by Scott that at some point in time, I would receive a check but they did not know when and could not check with anyone.
