American Corporate Securit (ACS) is based in Seattle, also it mentions a location in Renton, WA. Instead of an address, the president has been using the Worksource Office on 3rd Ave. to recruit and hire workers.  Since the company is non-union, they pride themselves on offering a competitive salary but do not be fooled.

My experience with John Lolos who calls himself 'president' of ACS, was he seemed likeable so you wanted to give him a chance.  I noticed he seemed anxious to help and swore he provided 'benefits', mostly he sought full-time workers for regular positions.  This is what I interviewed and was even drug tested for the same day. At the time I had another job so I was scheduled for a training shift.  I was offered a job, but it was in an 'out of town' location, I was without a car and he was not going to pay the overnight transportation costs so I could go to the site the night before (the shift was to start at 4:00am!) and be there to begin work.  He could have set the shift to be more convenient.

The rate of pay was to be $14.00/hour with health and dental benefits but he would pay certain workers only $12.00/hour yet he would not send pay slips, opting for direct deposit instead.  I was told he did not have any other positions but he felt free to call me to do shifts no one else wanted.  There were no holiday shifts I was eve allowed to work, these were reserved for 'regular' worker and I was not considered one of those. Lolos expected me to work on my days off because my other job was part-time without benefits.  After I injured my knee, I was not able to work as many hours as before.

I liked John Lolos but he slyly had an agenda for workers 40 + years of age. I was charged a $210.00 uniform fee that consisted of a used helmet, used raincoat, new green vest and two pocket t-shirts! These charges I did not learn about until he discharged me without notifying me of it.  I told him I could not work a shift he asked me to work overnight 31 October 2016, afterI told him I would let him know.  He stopped calling after that, next I knew I was summoned to a court hearing about an unemployment situation.  Due to being shorted on pay and not used enough as worker with ACS, I had run short on my rent and ACS did not want to help out.

I did work shifts, mostly overnight at inconvenient locations where I had to walk long distances to get to the site. I was told to call cabs and save the receipts, he even got special 'uber-type' rides for me early in the morning. Later, I found out my pay was shorted and I probably paid for the service myself.  I will always insist on getting the pay slips with hourly particulars or copies of the time sheets.

There seems to be a rash of companies targeting workers in security of a certain age, that have experience but were never veterans. Security is all about customer service but corporations want to place veterans above all other workers, knowing the government will keep its eye on them.  Still, all workers male and female deserve the same considerations based on knowledge and experience.

Fairness in hiring is the right of any citizens and the abscence of discrimination for any reason is how the workplace is to be protected!

The company president has done what he can to arbitrate but in view of the company's retort, I have ot respond.

I was not offered two jobs on a regular schedule, but they full well know the the first in Covington is in a different city, and I have no car! I could not afford to take anything other than public transportation, so I could only do it if I could get an 'overnight' (most of my assignments with this company were 'overnights').

This company hires primarily Afrikan immigrants that have no idea how to protect themselves from unfair company policies, and if their employees were there will be relatively few 40+ in age.  Now, I only met one other but he first told me while i was being trained that someone had filed a report on this company.  What the cause was I did not know, but at that time I was just being trained for a new job.

The officials of the company do take a different approarch with the older worker of 40+ than those younger. This is not a union company and the only security company with an office within Seattle proper. Just where is the diversity in this company? I had to work by myself on assignments and never had any regular hours or schedule to work.  Had I received an offer to do fill-in work, I scarcely would have accepted.  There as also the situation with one pay rate on paper, yet another on pay stubs (I never saw them until I was discharged and learned I had been underpaid!).

I have respect for the president of ACS, however I do not know if I could represent a company that takes such liberties with  policy considering all employees regardless of age.  A company like this will always bee seeking employees toexploit rather than help the company grow.

Those are my thoughts about the company called ACS.  Perhaps, the report needs to remain for more more people to considering employment with ACS to view.  The weak rebuttal certainly seems tue to form, so I will choose NOT TO REMOVE THIS REPORT for the time being!

American Corporate Security ACS Response to Employee :

1. AGE & Discrimination Claim: FALSE. ACS has NEVER discriminated against anyone. ACS's majority of full time employees are over 40 years of age and are minority.

2. Part Time Employee Refused To Work: The part time employee was offered 2 full time positions. One was in the Covington area 26.6 miles from him. He said it was too far. The 2nd full time position was offered to him was in the downtown Seattle area and started at 4AM. (that's what the customer wanted) He said this was too early for him. The employee signed PAPERWORK stating: Reasons for Termination: "REFUSING  JOB  ASSINGMENTS". Employee signed at hiring then refused to work. (I'm happy to show this to him)

3. ACS did NOT deduct transportation costs: The employee was reimbursed for transportation on his PAYSTUB. Not only was he paid for transportation. ACS cares so much for their employees that ACS even paid a TOWNCAR service to drive him all the way back to his home in class. That's how much ACS cares about it's employees.

4. ACS did NOT deduct for his uniform: ACS PAID the employee an additional "uniform CLEANING amount" on his PAYSTUB in accordance with Labor and Industries.

5. PAY  CLAIM: This part time employee worked approx. just 120 hours in 2 years. The payroll service ACS was using at the time had the part time employees in a different tab. Even though ACS missed it's mistake the 1st time around and so did the unemployement court. ACS went back and double checked and found that the employee was owed $200. ACS immediatley notified the ex employee and paid him. Every company makes mistakes. It's about correcting the mistake. ACS should have seen the error before and corrected it along with the court.

6. COURT HEARING: Ruled for American Corporate Security ACS. Employee refused to work offered shifts.

7. Employees and Companies Need to Work Together: Employees should not slander a company. Companies makes mistakes and need to correct them.
