After reading your comments it is apparent that you actually have two complaints about American Family Insurance. The first complaint is that your agent wrote two automobile policies without your knowledge or consent. The second is that after the accident they refused to pay for damages because they claim that the policy was cancelled. If the agent had no knowlede of the policies and no one in your family paid for the policies then the vehicles should have had another polciy with another company as required by your states law. So why not file a claim with the other insurance company? On the second point you stated that the only way you found out that your son had insurance with the agent was because he received a refund check. Did you actually see the notice that came with the refund check or are you just repeating what your son told you. When the company sends a refund check it will be accompanied with an explanation for the refund (cancellation). It seems to me with out having any information more than what you gave, that yoru son had insurance for a short time for which he did not pay anything. And he has gotten a refund, so he is actually coming out ahead of where he started. If you have additional details pertaining to this and you still believe your son was wronged by the company then you need to contact the insurance commisioner of your state. The insurance commisioner of your state is there to protect the citizens and keep the insurance companies in check.
