Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I got a call from American/Capital Financial (later in the convo, I'd asked if the name of the company was American Financial, and she adamantly said "no")

She told me that I was qualified for a $1500 limit, no less, and a fixed interest rate of no more than 10%. All she needed was my checking account info, and when I asked why, it was so she could verify it. I was wary, so I kept asking her questions about the company, like

-How do they make money offering such "good" credit deals to people with bad credit histories?

-Why are you rushing me?

-Are you on commision? ("no, not at all" was the answer)

After every other question, she seemed to get agitated and ask me for my checking account number again, to which I'd reiterate that it was my every right to be nosy and ask as many questions as I wanted to.

I (((searched))) the number I got called from, which was actually 1-866-538-7581, and only one result came up, and it was from someone complaining about them, saying it's a ripoff.

I read that this person also only would have received a "merchant" card, good only for cash advances through the company or to use in their sub-par catalog of useless crap.

I asked the rep what kind of credit card it was, to which she responded "plastic, I guess." Smart *&*&.

I asked her if it would be a Visa, Mastercard, etc., and she said, "I can't find out until I have your bank account number and verify everything, then I can see your specific terms and conditions."

I'd read about the $200 fee, so I asked her if there were any fees or charges, and she said no.

Finally, I told her that I'd just (((searched))) their 1-800 number and that everything I was reading was bad, and that it was a ripoff and a scam. She told me, "Good luck" and hung up.

I'll also add that when I asked a couple questions about the company, she got defensive and said "I just work here, this is just my job." I wonder how she feels ripping people off for a living? Oh well.

In all - don't fall for this. I'm glad I didn't. The internet/G(((search engines))) are your friends :-)
