This company never pays out without first making the homeowner make changes or have additional work done prior to the contractors fixing the problem.

One contractor came out and would not fix the AC unit in the attaic, they wanted to charge us $456 to make the changes in order for them to do the repair, I had may neigborhood AC guy come out and do the additional work for $70, they then came back and repaired the issue but were not happy.

Most recently my waterheater needed to be replaced but in order for the contractor to replace the heater they wanted us to pay $450 in additon to having the access to our attic space re-ajusted and made bigger, so they could more comfortably and safely install. This was on a Friday morning, the contractor turned my hot water off and told me to call them when the attic access was changed, I called and asked for a payout as I needed to get hot water, they told me they could not get me a payout at that time.

I had two other plumbers come out that afternoon and neither of them had a problem with the access to the attic, they quoted and one installed the new heater on Saturday.  On Tuesday AHS called back and told me the payout for the hot waterheater and installation would be $310, what a joke.  I was so disgusted,  I requested a supervisor called me back, but no call, I called again and filed a complaint, once again I heard nothing.  I am not at the point where i just need to take the $310 and cancel the policy but they wont even call me back to enable me to do that.

These home repair warranties are always a gamble. Sorry for your troubles. I also went through similar problems with AHS.
