American Mortgage Express Branch Manager Jason Judice ripoff Mount Laurel New Jersey
This is a formal complaint against American Mortgage Express, located at 139 Gaither Drive, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Their contact number is 856-439-0101. My complaint is specifically against branch manager Jason Judice.
On 3/10/06 at approximately 4PM I canceled my mortgage application with American Mortgage Express, informing Jason Judice. When my wife and I started looking for homes in January 2006 we went to Lending Tree to examine pre-approval offers. During the process with Jason- on 1/20/06- he emailed me a preauthorization for a $295.00 application fee and a $350.00 appraisal fee. On March 4, 2006 we found our house.
As stated, 3/10/2006 I decided to cancel my loan with American Mortgage Express due to finding a better rate with another company. At the moment of my canceling NO CHARGES HAD BEEN SUBMITTED TO MY CREDIT CARD. However, later that day on 3/10/06, as verified by my credit card company, a $645.00 charge was submitted to my credit card. I realized this on 3/17/06.
I immediately disputed this inappropriate charge with my credit card company. Upon speaking with Jason Judice on 3/21/06 he advised us that he will reverse the $350.00 charge, due to no appraisal being done. He further stated that he refused to reverse the 295.00 charge, stating it is a non-refundable application fee.
I received no mortgage commitment, no appraisal or similar paperwork from American Mortgage Express. Additionally, our loan was to be an FHA. FHA does not allow for an application fee.
