I contracted with American Movers Group to relocate my household belongings to another state.  I specifically scheduled a pick up date and delivery date with the repesentative since the job related move was time sensitive.  On the pick up date no one showed up.  After many conversations with the representative I was told there was a misunderstanding.  Should have been a red flag.  Moving crew showed up the next day.  Delivery was to be made the following day to my new address.  After waiting most of the day for my belongings I finally go a call from the mover's driver and he said he "couldn't work" that day because it was Saturday.

I was never told this prior to or during the pick up.  The following day, Sunday I finally got a call stating "the van was stuck".  After several calls and conversations with the driver I figured out they had broken down.  I could not contact their dispatcher because they don't work on Sunday.  My belonging finally showed up late Monday afternoon in a different truck and my belongings were unloaded.  Something seemed strange when immediately upon the last item being unloaded the driver and helper jumped into the truck and sped off.  As we started to unpack we started realizing many belongings were not there.  I also relized that the driver had not provided me with an inventory or asked that I sign any thing to state I have recieved my things.

My next step was to go through their claims process.  I did listing all of the damaged furniture with pictures and all of the items that were not delivered.  Just a few things were my fathers Masonic Bible with all family history, top of the line Porter Cable cordless drill set, Harley Davidson motorcycle leathers, motorcycle helments, gas grill, gas fish cooker, etc, etc the list goes on.  Finally after several weeks I called to ask the status on the claim.  Only after that I recieved a settlement offer..........$167.00.   I replied the very next day and asked to show me their calculations.  I was told it would be "at least three weeks" to research the archives.  One day after I was sent the offer in the age of computer data management, yeah, right.  Its been over a month now and they won't even answer my emails.

Moral of the story ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES!

After repeated emails and attempted phone calls there is still no reponse from whatever name this company is using this week.  Phone calls to Jasmine (the agent I worked with for my claim) are now answered by a voice mail by Brian.  No phone calls are returned by anyone.  None of my emails recieve any response.
