Dear DETC,
I was looking into various doctoral programs and ran into the American Pacific University website.
I never heard of the Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy (D.C.H.) online degree before so I called APU's president, Matthew James (
[email protected]). He told me upon completion of the DCH at APU, the degree would be completely accredited and recognized by ALL accrediting agencies in the U.S. . .He also assured me that most insurances would cover hypnotherapy services.---THIS WAS A COMPLETE LIE!!!
I did some research on the internet and spoke with several licensed hypnotherapist and was shocked to find that he lied. They all told me there was "no such thing" as a doctor of clinical hypnotherapy and that most insurances DO NOT pay for hypnotherapy services.
I was extremely upset and disgusted that, I might have considered enrolling and paying thousands of dollars for a useless degree.
I am pretty sure there are innocent students out there who may have already been misled by their false advertising practices.
