To all those who have been ripped off by American Van Lines East YOU MUST READ THIS! I too have been scammed by these people, and tried the diplomatic way of resloving the issue, but apparently all of the owners and managers are on vacation for extended periods of time...as in always unavailable! SOLUTION: I filed a complaint with the State of Florida, Department of Consumer Affairs, www.800helpfla.com , and they investigated the incident within two weeks. I received a call from their Hillsborough County Lead Investigator who actually showed up on the company's doorstep. The investigator advised that they were in violation and fined them! He encouraged me to get the word out to anyone who has had similar issues to contact the state and also file a complaint. The company can get charged upwards of $5,000 per incident! At the time of my complaint, there were others who had filed similar complaints against this same company that has drawn some serious attention to this company! There is NO statute of limitations so it doesn't matter how long ago you had a problem. I assure you...the STATE is working on your behalf and very interested in hearing more. Go to their site: www.800helpfla.com Also...I have created my own site for you to post a blog to protect future consumers of having the same issue: www.americanvanlineseast.com Please post your experience there too.
