I like the previous poster have the same situation..
Our mortgage was sold to ASC.
We've also never had any problems with our payments, be it automatic or otherwise. Our problem is this.... I called them on July 16th (and several times before that) to speak with someone regarding the fact that our 2 year ARM is set to adjust in September (by almost $600) and we will not be able to afford anything higher than our current payments. I've also explained that we have endured several hardships this year (they don't care about that) and that we are currently living paycheck to paycheck and can not afford any higher payments. Unfortunately they do not look favorably upon the idea of being proactive. Our problem lies in the fact that we've made all of our payments ON TIME. If we were in default then they could help us!!!
I requested a payoff quote from them on 3 occasions so that I can attempt to refinance our loan (which isn't looking favorable because of the current market). The woman on the phone told me that she couldnt help me over the phone and that they would mail me the payoff information.
I also asked to speak to someone (Manager or someone higher) that would be able to discuss making an adjustment on my note so that we can avoid losing our house in a few months down the road when our ARM adjusts again... They transferred me to the Loss Mitagation department... Yet another individual that says they cant help me over the phone and that they would need to mail me some documents and I would have to submit a hardship letter...
Needless to say... We haven't received anything!
Looks like I will be filing the bankrupcy or foreclosure that they seem to want us to do.
