Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I am another very disappointed Ameriplan IBO. I plan to drop out ASAP. I joined the company in October 2006 and followed the plan that was supposed to build a successful Work At Home business for myself. Early on I was contacted by the provider rep. for my part of the country and she told me " Good luck, no one has ever made it in Ameriplan up in your part of the country". That should have been my first clue to cut my losses, but no I continued to do as I was being trained.

The problem I constantly ran into was that the providers listed on Ameriplan's sites did not even know what Ameriplan was when any of my prospective members contacted them. If they did know they did not educate their staff. I would call the offices myself and get the same answers. This was not much of a confidence booster for me as a new IBO, let alone to help me promote Ameriplans' services and feel confident erolling others.

I am a very honest person and I wanted to be sure that people were going to get what they expected from these services. It made it virtually impossible to enroll members when the provider offices couldn't even verify that they were providers. Many said they had no idea how they got on our list.

In contacting them I made sure that I used all the correct names for the various services; Coast to Coast for Vision, Medco for Pharmacy, Beech Street Network for the Doctors as well as Ameriplan and yet almost every office I contacted did not even know who we were, let alone what discounts the members could expect. I spent countless hours trying to figure out why this was so, to no avail.

I spent lots of time, money and energy on this business trying to be totally honest with my clients which was my downfall. I found it very difficult ethically to try to enroll others in a business which I found to be almost impossible to get off the ground myself. I did the free postcard leads, I ran numerous ads in the paper and online, I distributed flyers all over my area.

I even ordered a magnetic sign for my car which arrived just a week before I finally decided to get out of this business. The problem came right down to the fact that when contacted the providers listed in our area did not even know who we were. I know that there are people in this company making money, but I would like to have a report of the statistics of how many like me work hard and get no where.

I am not bitter, just wiser now. I would caution anyone to really check things out carefully before signing on with Ameriplan. My son in law tried to talk me out of it and I sure wish I had listened to him.

#2Consumer Suggestion

I have been a member for almost 3 years and i have saved a lot of money on my dentist and vision care. I cannot afford insurance and infact AmeriPlan was on the News on how it is the leader in the industry on 60 minutes. I actually am thinking in joining to do the business. My dentist loves patients that are members of Ameriplan and i get my discounts that help me save a lot of money. I think you all should be careful that when you talk to someone that you dont make fast decisions. Make sure you read everything and that your questions are answered correctly. I also think that people with the mentality of an employee need to start thinking as a business owner and understand that this is not a job but a business. Some of the brokers or what they call IBO's are what is causing the problem not AmeriPlan. People say AmeriPlan this and AmeriPlan that but the one who miss informed you about the company is the person that brought you in, the ibo or broker. Every company no matter who they are or what they do gets complaints about something and they always will. Like i have said before, i have been a member with AmeriPlan for almost 3 years and this has even made my mind to sign up to do the business because all of you need to be well educated on this. I know its not your fault, it is the person that gave you wrong information. My friend that is doing AmeriPlan and signed me up as a member has had the opportunity to quit his job. He is earning $37000 dollars in residual income and while i am working my 40 or 50 hour a week job he is doing what ever he wants thanks to this business. The company AmeriPlan never contacted you to do the business or to sign up as a member. Its the person who told you about it that you be responsible enough and be honest with you. I am calling my friend that signed me up with AmeriPlan as a member, i am going to upgrade to an IBO this following week. I have a lot of providers in my area, i have called some of them and they all said that they take AmeriPlan members and i believe i will do very well.

#3UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sat, April 21, 2007

Diane, I also have filed a rip-off report stating a lot of the same problems you had. It is listed as author, Greg from Campton, Ky. It is amazing how any company can have a list of providers they say they are associated with, but yet the providers have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. In any company there should be, or it would seem to me, there would be some kind of quality control section of a company to ensure that the names they have listed as providers are actually providers. I like you, try to be honest when I was approaching someone to tell them of Ameriplan. The only difference is I did not, sell anything until I gave the company a complete and thorough research. As it is, I am very glad I did not sell anything to anybody before I did the research. I listened to all the hype, the go go go of all the up-line people, the got to stay motivated bunch of bull, and all the other tricks of the trade. One thing I had going for me, I am not a rookie in the game of the multi-level marketing world. I was fortunate enough to be trained in another MLM company by an ex CEO of a corporation. He taught me a lot. There is one thing to remember that a lot of these companies keep you hyped up and reved up all the time, don't lose your motivation, keep you busy with up-line teams calls, seminars, and all other sorts of bull. What they are trying to do is to take your objectivity away from you, by virtually brain-washing you with all of their hype. Because they know once you start to question anything (Objectively) and start thinking on your own, the game is over. They know then, that all the hype, the motivation and all the other bull along with them are out the door. But usually after you have already invested a war price. So when you asked about other people out there that got nowhere with Ameriplan, you found one. Thanks
