This is the case as I recall it...Back in Sept. 2010, I was looking on my mortgage holder's website and I filled out a form to see if I was eligible for a loan modification as to my finances had changed.  Later in the week, I received a phone call from Jamie Weeks who was very nice and polite and qualified me over the phone for the loan modification.  He explained to me that he was the first line of the process and once qualified and money arrangements were made, I'd been turned over to the mitigation department and I'd have an assigned specialist to work with me. My specialist was Danielle Merrell and she was helpful..at least was when I talked to her.  I sent in a $700.00 cashiers check to Jamie along with my packet and within 6 weeks my loan was returned with a modification offer.. My original loan interest was 5%, thats all, the new offer from GMAC was 4.25%.  This was a great offer but as my luck would have it, I wanted a lower rate.  Rates were then at 3.5% or lower.  In the beginning while talking with Jamie, he stated that some loans were being offered with  graduated rates like 2% for 5 years, 3% for 5 years and 4% for 5 years and 5 % for rest of the loan.  This is what I heard! Not that some were being offered at that... So of course I was a little let down to be offered 4.25 %.  Jason Rogland, Danielle Merrell's supervisor then, called to congratulate me on the loan modification and he turned into an evil DEBT COLLECTOR.  He proceeded to remind me of the agreed arrangements and how I broke them.  Only after I got him to listen to me did he calm down and apologize..With his advice, I agreed to proceed with sending my packet back to GMAC for another consideration.  That's when Michelle Reliford got into the picture.  She texted me the company's acct number to which my 2nd deposit was to be made to and it was in a different name.  The original name was Alliance Mitigation Group, which Jason Rogland was supervisor of and Now it changed to AMG Direct.  Something was wrong but I couldn't figure out what.  Well NC Dept. of Justice brought everything into the light and now the only company that is willing to give back the money is AMG DIRECT.  This company owned by David Singui, is sending back the complete amount that I was "Taken For" and Alliance Mitigation Group has yet to even call me or email me back...? So at this point, Jason Rogland and ALLIANCE MITIGATION GROUP IS the company that doesn't honor their money back guarantee and AMG direct IS willing to HONOR their part as well as Jason's...  Well that's the story and my lesson learned is if you cant qualify for a true refinance, CONTACT YOUR MORTGAGE COMPANY. I'm working with mine now and expect everything to work out just fine.   Thank You,
