Hi there,

If you are interested in acting in 'The Red Cloak' in PA directed by Andre Martin, here's some help! He had a cast of people who came from various locations out of their own pocket. Their was no script read through and he kept postponing the time for shootings. When we arrived, Andre was no where to be found! He came an hour later and we we're kicked out of the shooting location. Then we started a different shoot and the props weren't there, so the 'Production designer' (AKA Andre's mom) went to the dollar store to get our props while everyone stood around smoking, not to mention there were kids in the film.. An hour later they came back with the so called 'Props' and we started. We had to walk through thorn bushes at least 4 times and then we did another scene. After only two scenes done, it was 8:00. Considering we had no breaks, and the main actress was a child, we thought we were done. But we were not which we were all okay with. We went to do a scene in the house of Andre's mothers ex husband which was completely unproffesional and unsanitary with cat pee everywhere and a horrible oder. Then we were informed after a half hour there that we were shooting at the hospital instead. We stood around for 2 hours shooting nothing when we were kicked out... AGAIN. We were told we would have a heavy day of shooting the next day and after no lunch or dinner at 10:00pm the cast was ready to leave. Call time was 5:00am the next day and as we were all getting ready, it was said that we were not able to shoot beacuse of the main actress 15 year old girl who flew to PA with no pay or reimbursments) quit. We were all mad considering Andre and the "crew" stayed up drinking all night. Some cast then met with the main actress at her hotel and she was informed that "shooting could not go on because of the weather and Andre was sorry she came all this way for nothing." We all wasted our money and time and all the cast walked out because of the unproffessionalism. Now he has an additional casting up and now this NO BUDGET 'Short film' is a 'Feature film'

As an adult actor from the area of PA I feel sorry for everyone involved and I hope that no one falls for this!

I am an actor and I am cast in this film. There is no scam.

This report is authored by the child actor that quit the shoot, then changed her mind and became upset because the director would not extend the role to her any longer.

For having such low funds to work with Andre Alexander Martin did an outstanding job organizing this entire shoot and tackling this story material. I was personally impressed with his ability to secure shooting locations, permits, contracts and
releases all at the last moments while still working for hours on end, day-in, day-out with the screenplay, storyboards, shot lists, call sheets, props, costumes, shooting schedules, unreliable talent and hiring crewmembers.

Needless to say I am honored to be working for him on his film. He is overly-dedicated to the arts and sciences of filmmaking and quite sharp.

It is unfortunate that this child-actress -- Jenna Dapello-- he casted, quit but it is for the better. He is developing the short into a feature, which was his goal anyway and now we can cast more professional talent.

This kid is entitled to her opinion so Ill address facts:

FACT CHECK:

1. There isnt even an actresses from Wilkes-Barre, PA in this film? Obvious lie about identity

2. The Casting Call Clearly Lists the Shooting Locations/low/no budget

3. The director was late (but he picked up a stranded actor, pretty generous)

4.  As per the request of other actors table reads were done via Skype/Webcam to minimize commuting

5.  It is commonplace to fund your own transportation on low/no budget productions in exchange for credit/experience/networking

6.  We were hardly kicked out of anywhere we were there all day and invited to return to pick up our short, missed shot that was just a shot your referring to (these things happen) we also parked there all day

7.  CORRECTION: YOU WERE the only kid in this film

8.  Thorn Bushes You want to portray an avenging-vigilante character that takes on serial killers but you are complaining about walking and the bushes in the woods?

9.   The set for the scene where there are cats smelled like cats?

10. Filming usually runs about 12 hours, you are complaining about less than 7 and there was a break when we moved locations (there was crafts)

11. The Hospital was improvisation, that didnt work because the actress misplaced the most important prop for hours and got lost (why not mention that?)

12. Andre drinking all night? Clearly, you dont know him or his crew. And you can substantiate your unfounded attempt at defamatory remarks how?

13. Pick one lie, not three weather, quit, entire cast walked off which is it? Neither. I was with the director when he called you on speakerphone and you said you were not available booked on other projects, which your dad had revealed to be a lie.
When he did call you that morning (the part you leave out) he discusses his concern for the fact that it might rain and if it did, pick-up shots would be necessary (during our pick up day), at that point you quit the shoot. When he then informed all crewmembers of the cancellation he just said bad weather, because he is a good respectful guy and didnt want to make you look bad. Maybe he should have just told everyone you quit form the get-go, you wouldnt of had time to craft this falsified account.

14. All cast and crew have expressed their interest in the feature-length version except Jenna Dapello and many will return to reprise their role or crew position

I can tell you that this "report" is the hoax of a juvenile, disgruntled, disillusioned, starry-eyed actress named Jenna Dapello.

I know because she told me she was gonna write it.  I think that it is wrong to lie about people no matter how upset you are.

This child actress ruined her own chance at starring in a short film adaption by quitting. She stated to me that her lines were too long and she was complaining about having to do any kind of physical performance. Even though she already agreed with the director, on aspects of the performance, she immediately began complaining and stating that she was not going to do harmless things required of her acting like get her feet wet.

This kid turned the entire shoot into a disaster and then quit when the producer called her about having pick-up shots. I know because I was there. On our way to the set, the producer calls this kid and she tells him that she is booked for the next three days in New York City and this and that  next thing we know, her dad is calling us trying to figure out what is going on and why his money is being wasted. He is wondering why his daughter is lying about her availability.

And that is what this falsified report is really about.

The kid doesnt want to be responsible for wasting their parents travel money.

If there is any scam, unprofessional-ism or unethical behavior being engaged in It was by the lead actress who ruined her own role, the whole shoot and then tried to scapegoat on the director because she didnt want to face reality.

I will not entertain this attempt at slander/defamation any longer.

The next "rebuttal" will be information regarding the production and release of The Red Cloak film now a feature-length motion picture!

You are still invited to the premiere! This will be good publicity! Stay tuned for more info!
