Aol Internet Provider ripoff dishonest fraudalent billing horrible customer service Internet
aol are rip-off artists. unfortunately because i wasnt vigilant about my bank statement i didnt realize that theyd been billing me 3 x a month for internet service and charging me for call waiting service i didnt have. theyve been ripping me for a total of $55-$60 a month for past year and a half.
when i finally looked over a bank statement i was shocked and angry. i then pulled out other statements and realized theyd been billing me this way for quite a while and had in fact ripped me for over $700, which they are refusing to refund on the pretense that i have a period of 2 months to complain.
all the while the 2 customer service reps /the 1st a man named george/ the 2nd a woman whose name i didnt get , were very unhelpful and refused to refund my money. the man(george)even transfered me to a line to cnc service which hung up on me!the woman offered me 1st 6 mths of service free and when i refused than $45 than $95+ 4 months service free. angry i told her that they had ripped me off about 10x that amount and refused. the only way i'd be happy was w/my money back. it brings to mind all the x's i went to atm thinking i had money but didn't because they were ripping me off on my debit card!
her excuse was that somehow they were charging me for another acct i didnt have.but surprise!, it looks more like 2 accts more than i had + some call-waiting fee i dont have!i told them it was very unethical to charge some-one extra because of your error than not want to pay-up their hard-earned money but she told me no-one in comp could do better and that she was basically doing me a favor offering me the $95. i threatened to call the d.a in my area (i will) but alas this didnt help. i got no resolution. HELP!!!! im very angry. i think aol are unethical rip-off artists!
