I received a past due notice from Aol. At first I thought it was a phishing scam because our account has been free for years. We have had the same Aol account for 20 years so naturally I was concerned. I called the 855 272 4927 provided and I asked about the bill, the rep never once explained how we got 'upgraded' in the first place. I kept asking over and over and she kept playing stupid. "We'll remove the charges and offer you 2 more months free as well" I finally asked her, Aol is still free right ? (without the extraneous garbage). That is when I heard the tone of her voice change, 'yes maam it is!' It took some patience and I politely stood my ground but I finally got her to cancel my 'upgrade '. At the end of the call I had to hear a litany of all the terrible things that could happen to our computer and how it will be our responsibility if some terrible computer scorge should occur but I'm going to live on the edge and take my chances.
