This company is ripping people off left and right. In Jan my husband noticed a strange charge for 9.95 from "Shopping Essential" on our bank acct statement. He figured it was just something that I had bought for Christmas and let it go. However, on Feb's statement again this charge appeared for 9.95 on Feb. 5th. (The prior charge had been on Jan. 5th). He asked me about this and I had no idea what it was. After researching on the Internet and finding this website I realized that we had been scammed.

I called Shopping Essential (Adaptive Marketing) and spoke to "Demarqus" He says he canceled my membership and will refund me. However, he says that I asked for this service when I made an order from Potpourrigifts. He said that there is a box at the bottom of the order and that I clicked on the box to purchase this. First off I always make a point to unclick the boxes because I hate junk email.

Second he claims that I got a email confirming this. This is totally a lie because to be honest I dont get that much email and I always read whatever I get. I was furious and of course the company would not admit their cheating people. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me the same thing and then hung up on me. We will see if I get my money back.

I also called Potpourrigifts and they said that yes it is at the bottom of the order about this service. However, the service representative said she would forward the fact that I got no confirming email to upper management.

I wonder how many people are being cheated without realizing it??

This company did reimburse me for the 3 months where they illegally charged me. It was in my bank account in 2 days as the company said it would be. I hope that other people find this website and stand up to this company and the way they are taking advantage of the average consumer.
