Recieved a call from Rounak, about a position that i might be interested the position sounded verry good and was interested in it. he said he needed a copy of my resume e mailed to him and he needed my last 4 # of my ssn to process my application sent a updated copy of my resume.  refused to give ssn he said that he would ask his sup if he could process application without the ssn. e mailed me back and said no he cant.  i still reufsed he said he could continue. i said well im not releasing #.  I have been dealing with temp agencies for 5 plus years. never has to relese ssn or parts of it for my resume to be released to a employer. I feel this is a scam just to get ppl infromation.

Requirement for last 4 of SSN is NOT a scam.

APN Software Services Inc is a leading staffing agency with over 250 employees nationwide. We work with over 55 clients in and around continental US and have been rated as a Top Bay area workplace for 3 years in a row. Here is a link to our Top Workplace award from San Jose Mercury news http://www.topworkplaces.com/frontend.php/regional-list/company/bayarea/apn-software-services-inc We work with several clients nationwide and every client has a specific set of requirements when submitting candidates. Without delving into names many clients these days use MSP portals where we submit resumes for contract positions that are opened to us. The resumes directly get routed to the Managers who set up interviews/screens and then based on the interviews send out offers. This is typically a vendor neutral process and saves time both for the Clients and Staffing agencies and helps regulate markups as well. This system works beautifully except several times the same candidate gets submitted by several agencies for the same position. This can happen because the candidates forget or ignore that they have been already submitted or some unscrupulous agencies use robot submittals to lock out candidates so that no one else can submit them and they can claim first right of submittal. To prevent this scenario from happening as it happens very often the MSP's in several companies have devised candidate tracking system. The tracking system is a code assigned to each candidate based on a few parameters. It could be initials of the name and last 4 of SS or initials of name and day and month of birth and so on. this works as a verification that the candidate is not a robot submittal and makes it easy to avoid duplicate submittals as if a candidate is submitted, a duplicate submittal will automatically be detected and avoided. We are not the ones that set these parameters. We work with what our clients have set up internally. I would highly suggest you calling the HR at the client That Rounak mentioned you were being submitted at and verify if the last 4 of SSN are required. That should clear any doubts in your mind. If you need any clarifications please do not hesitate to call us. We are reachable at 510-623-5050 and you can ask for anyone in our HR or Account management teams to help you further with any queries. Thanks
