Here is what transpired from the scam. I was laid off from my job May 31,2010 and have been looking daily for work. I have had time to reflect on what I would love to do for the last stages in my career. I have 25 former years of experience in the Hospitality Industry and 17 years in healthcare as a Regional Director Operations. In both fields what I enjoyed most was the traveling, training and implementation of services I performed. When I saw this ad in the San Antonio Express News Sunday September 26th it was perfect. I called the # 813-814-3877 and got a recorded message saying if you are calling about the Corporate Trainer Position leave your name and phone # and someone will call you in two hours.. I got a call back he asked how long I had been in the hospitality Industry , what kind of service and where I lived. He was abrupt when I said Corpus Christi to say we don't have any office there. I quickly said I would relocate and tried to explain my experience also in healthcare . He said he would call back tomorrow as they are only picking 4 persons and if called he would give more info if I am still interested and I said yes. He called back Monday morning.( ID said Withheld on each call) The caller said he was Shawn Hampton with Apollo Leisure a company from the UK with Corporate Offices in Portland Maine.that caters cruises to the wealthy, stars, executives etc. He said they bought cruise ships and are locating their office in San Antonio to train the food and beverage staff and if I was chosen I would travel to the ports and train the staff on two ships. But first have to go to Portland Maine for an interview in the AM and back in the PM that day. The salary was $1250.00 per week plus benefits. He asked if I was still interested and I said absolutely. He then said he would call again in two hours to let me know one way or the other about whether or not I would be considered. He called back and said I was one of the four chosen. and he would call back with travel arrangements. He called back gave me a choice when to go which I chose October 11th . He said due to time restraints we all were chosen and are going to Maine to interview. Due to the company not getting ripped off and a sign of our commitment the Company policy was to pay half the ticket which would be $184.00 the company would pay the rest. They would reimburse me once I showed up in Maine,He said If I didn't pay the half and someone backed out of the deal then I can interview locally on October 12th and get a call from Mike Dawson Regional VP.. I said I would wait for the call and not go to maine. He said ok and that was it. He never asked for a resume , references, etc. So I thought it was pretty strange. At one point I asked if there was a web site I could review, he said no due to the anonymity of the clients they serve however they are in the top 500 corporations, with assets of... debt free, and rambled all sorts of data. I know not to give out any identity info or buy anything to get the job but I also don't want to miss the opportunity if it were real. I think though because I am vulnerable I could easily fall victim. So that is all the info I have. Any info on this company? I hope if it is a scam , that they get busted. Thanks

A quick Google search for apollo + leisure + scam turned up this: (((link redacted))) Although jobfairy.com has a section on employment scams, there are sites that specialize in exposing them. We're more focused on getting people employed... We'll add it to the scam information though. Have you visited the folks over @(((link redacted)))? The best site, IMHO, for dealing with scams is http://www.ripoffreport.com/. This is what they specialize in and they're great at it. I checked and they don't have anything listed yet for Apollo Leisure - but I'll bet you can change that. :) All the best, The Shocking Pink Fairy
