I have purchased an iPhone and the Apple Care protection plan that covers the phone for 2 years.  I have 7 members of my family using iPhones and Apple Care also.

I have had nothing but problems with my iPhone since I first received it.  It has been replaced with 'refurbished' or as they call them 'replacement' phones. 

Most recently, my phone stopped working and in a call to apple care I was advised, against my better judgement, to go into a 'Genius" bar.  I use the word genius euphemistically, as they are far from genius.  I took 3 hours off from work, drove the 45 minutes to the Apple Store, was treated poorly when I arrived and proceeded to have my phone #1 WIPED, and then I was given a new phone.  The 'genius' told me all my data was backed up in iCloud, and then discovered AFTER WIPING MY OLD PHONE that he could not retrieve it.  So I was given a phone that was brand new.  No email, no contacts, no data at all!

On my drive back to my office, I learned that I missed a bid on a contract because I did not respond to an email I received in a timely manner.  I HAD NO EMAIL SERVICE ON THE PHONE BECAUSE THE GENIUS WIPED IT.  I lost a $4000 contract!

that evening when I arrived home, I attempted to restore the phone with the back up on itunes.  The phone just went BLACK!  Nothing at all.  It was not the battery, it was not itunes, it was a BAD PHONE!

8 calls and 4 hours on the phone with both apple care and the store managers I still had NO WORKING PHONE!

Next day, Saturday, I had to drive BACK to the Apple store ,an hour from my home, and attempt another genius fix.  He determined I got a bad phone.  This time the 'genius' was able to access my iCloud backup, but told me thet the wireless connection in the store was so bad, it would take 4 - 6 hours to update everything.  So once again I had a CLEAN phone.  At least this time, I had contacts.

At home I was able to update all the apps, etc through my own wireless, but indeed it took 4 hours!

3 days without a working phone and a loss of $4000!!

Throughout this entire process I was in touch with customer relations, as I was advised to complain to them by the very first customer service rep I spoke with when I first reported the problem.  I was promised 'good faith' gifts to satisfy me because of the 2 years of trouble I have had with anything apple.  After exhaustive calls, I decided I would be 'satisfied' with a bluetooth headset. 

Katie Phillips called me and arranged delivery, etc.  She also offered to send me some apple 'goodies'. I said i didnt want anything of the sort.  She sent them anyway. So I got an apple pen, tshirt and coffee mug.  However, the headset never arrived.  When I inquired 3 weeks later, I received a call back from apple telling me that after they told me they were sending the headset, they changed theor minds!  No call, no notice, they just decided to renege on a promise!

Apple used to be customer centric.  They are now worse than Microsoft!  As a matter of fact, I am roothing for Microsoft with Windows 8 to give Apple their comeuppance!

I will never buy another Apple product if this is how they treat their customers!  Lies Lies Lies
