I worked for the applebee's in south grand prairie for over 6 months. TOM MONAHAN, KENT YARWOOD, and FELISHA COMPTON are the managers at this location. First off, the turnover rate at this place is unreal (as is the cockroach problem.) when i got a job there ans started working, it seemed fine. But these people will find so many ways to screw you if you let them.

First, if they decide you arent exactly perfect, they will cut your shifts down to where you barely have any work. when you ask why they did this, they will come up with all sorts of irrelevent bull***t.that means they hired too many people and there arent enough shifts to go around. What applebees really needs is a custodial crew, to do all the cleaning, but no, they world rather make the waiters do all the cleaning. for 2.13 an hour. and they get pi**ed when you dont bust your a** for those wages!

this seriously was the trashiest restuarant i have ever worked at, and although everything is already cheap, this majorly overpriced for what you actually get. i would like to tell everyone thinking about working for this company to reconsider, as you will be dealing with the following:

-ghetto people who came to applebees because they have barely any money

-being punished for not being "positive" when you get stiffed (worked for free) because applebees doesnt allow an automatic gratuity on huge parties

-being underpaid for the "sidework"- or as applebees calls it, free work

-paycards that never get any money on them

-managers that don't give a s**t about anyone but superb***h schedule maker

-and they n**i the uniforms like crazy

think twice before filling out an application.

stop complaining.if it was that god awful, why didn't you quit right away? no, you wanted to stay.so shut up about it. didn't you also post about the roadhouse and say the same things about them. i think you have never worked at any of these places, just maybe either didn't get hired or got kicked out of them for not being able to afford their food.if applebys is so cheap and beneath you for catering to poor people, then why didn't you go work at la Madeline? oh that's right. they don't hire hookers

All of this is par for the course in any restaurant. I know, I did it for twelve years. It was the sh*ttiness of restaurant work that ultimately motivated me to go back to school and, many years later, obtain a law degree. I can't believe that Applebees actually has the audacity to call their "sidework" "FREEwork." I know, as an attorney, that it's entirely infeasible, but here's what I would like to see: I would like to see EVERY person who has ever waited a table in their life sue EVERY employer who thinks it's okay to pay somebody $2.13/hour for non-tipped labor. The whole setup is nothing but a big scam whereby the restaurant owners can pay waitress wages for custodial work, and something has to change about it. Maybe I'll write a letter to my congressman or something. Or maybe I'll run for congressman. Hands up if I can count on your vote!
