Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
The original company (Aras Promotions) was started about 4 years ago.  In that time period, the owner failed to file the State mandated annual reports 2 out of the 4 years in business.  The owner dissolved that business in March of 2010; yet continues to run her website as well as her business under Aras Promotions, LLC.  Her husband since started a 'new' agency under a similar name in January of 2010 (Aras LLC).  He has also failed to file his state required annual report for this year.  There is no other information or website associated with Aras LLC.

Neither of these "agencies" have their models sign any contractor agreements or contracts, which legally make all their talent their employees, and not independent contractors.  They pay no unemployment or worker's compensation  to any of their talent when they are not working events.  With them running business in this manner, they threaten every other legitimate modeling agency in the State of Wisconsin who do have their talent work as contractors and do have them under contract.

Numerous former Aras models have complained about being contacted for one or two jobs, waiting forever to be paid for those jobs, and then never being contacted again for additional work.  These same models then receive no unemployment benefits.

The owner and her husband reap all the benefits (money) from this agency without taking heed of the legalities of running such a business; caring about the State requirements when it comes to promotional samplings; or caring about the State requirements for running/owning a business.

I've worked with several of the local promotional agencies.  The initial 'report' was stating facts found on WI STATE websites and legal business reporting government agencies.  Now, why we CARE - I don't know.  If whomever wants to run a business, legally or not... fishy in government views or not - who cares... as long as the end client is happy with the services.  If the 'complainer' has concerns, or issues.... maybe that person should look within her own company.

ALL Business has competition... competition can only speed past you if you aren't doing the best in the market.  If you can't keep your clients, or your staff happy, satisfied, and RESPECTED - then you deserve to be passed by in the market.  Legalities or not - if you're not nice, no one will want to work with you - and that may take time to see in the bottom line, but in the end - your agency is gonna crash.  The owner must put forth time and effort, sacrifice their time, family and money to operate a business - if you don't show the client you'll go above and beyond, and push the limits of service, there are others out there who will.

Now, on the flip side... I've worked for the re butter.  And I have had delays in payments.  I DID find this agency to be 'clicky'.  I was NOT under any contract.  But if you weren't white, and you weren't a friend of Sara's.... you didn't get offered the best jobs.  You were the 'leftovers' on the invite list - and after a period of time, if you weren't HOT, you were just simply dropped from the invitations - without work one from Aras - they used you to fill a gap, but didn't really want you for the base of their agency.  When comparing the industry laws, Aras breaks many.  I had to find out the hard way what is legal, and what is not while pouring samples of liquor in the state of Wisconsin.  As for the client requirements, many are bent to conform to whatever we in the end wanted to do at the events.

I do find it hilarious that all of these rebuttal posts are all made within a short time frame... as if Sara saw the original post.. then contacted her friends to then post the rebuttals - none of which addressed what the report was truly flagging.

I was used to report on other agencies and how they work things.  As for all of Saras Employees, with all these fancy titles and responsibilities.... I ask, why?  A company of this size doesn't need all this fluff - it can't realistically carry the salaries that feed these employees.  Hype sells though doesn't it.

And if you really want to know..... The client pays 30-40/hour... and you get 18-20.  And really.... we weren't saving lives or improving the world - no.  Heck, half the time the gals couldn't complete simple tasks like staying for the whole shift we were hired for.  Overpaid - YES.  But if the client wants to pay for what I do and how I do it... so be it!  And these clients... where do they come from... well, it pays to know people at the distributor levels.  If you didn't know these folks, do you think you'd have that on your portfolio... I don't know... do you ever market?

And how catty is this market?... well, let's ask Emily of MyCity Promotions, a former employee of Aras... who turn and stabbed Sara in the back, taking her models and her clients with a very UN-professional agency wide email.  But then again, Emily's gals are more Stripper Pole (hey, just look at the website, it's free porn)... at least you can get an erection while buying the product.  With Aras you just get a Self Described Smart Girl.

I have been a very happy employee of ARAS since 2007 and cannot believe what I just read. There is no truthbehind that complaint as the owner of ARAS has been nothing but a pleasure to work for.

I have always signed proper paperwork and have always received my pay at the same time every month.

Not only is the owner of ARAS a wonderful boss professionally, she is always there for us employees personally as well. ARAS is a family unit and anyone would be so lucky to work for this company.

ARAS is the BEST Promotions Company in Wisconsin!!

This is completely laughable!!!  I cannot believe someone would write such lies about the best promotional company in WI- actually, one of the top in the US.  I have worked with Sara and ARAS since the beginning and not only is she completely respectful (which I did NOT find in the other local Promotional agencies I was hired with), she ALWAYS paid on time.  Never once in 4 years did I get a late check.  Everyone wants to work with ARAS promotions because it is fun, fair, and professional.  Sara has the best promotional models in WI.  The other local agencies I worked with have irresponsible and unprofessional models because the owners do not know how to treat their girls with respect.  It has been 8 years since I have been in Promotions and I have worked with almost all the local agencies and 6 of the national agencies.  ARAS is the best one- it's no wonder she has such a long waiting list!!

ARAS--A Great Company to Work For

I have been working for ARAS for almost two years now and I have NEVER had any issues with this company. All of the information stated on this article is in fact inaccurate and it is completely unprofessional to see that a competitor had to fabricate false information in order to tamper

with our companys reputation.  I am certain that if ARAS was guilty for doing any of these things mentioned above, there would be no employees or clients willing to work with this company. I, personally, could not be more proud to be employed for a company that treats both clientele and staff with loyalty and

respect. The experience I have acquired from working with this company has benefited me significantly and has helped me prepare for the Marketing/Sales Industry that I am seeking a career in upon

graduating from college.  I highly recommend employment with ARAS, you will not be disappointed.

Aras Promotions Recommendation

#7UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

Aras Promotions has risen to the top of the industry statewide because they require the highest level of performance from it's Independent Contractors and management. In great contrast to the author of the complaint, the President of Aras has set a great example for us by building an incredibly successful company while adhering to ethical business standards.

With Aras, clients can expect a high level of performance and professionalism.  I feel privileged to work with some of the most experienced and successful Promotional Models in the area.  The owner is easily accessible and committed to building a cohesive unit between suppliers, distributors, staff, and promotional models.

This is a great company to work with!

Aras Promotions is a GREAT company to work for!

I had to "file a report" so that other people can see this. Aras Promotions is a GREAT company to work for. I've worked for the company as an independent contractor for over a year and I love it. It is better than any of the other promotional companies that I've ever worked for. I read a previous rip-off report about this company and all of that information is NOT true at all. We are all independently contracted. We are all very respected by the company. We are the best at what we do. If you want to work for a company that is fun, innovative, and provides great service for the best brands in the industry, Aras Promotions is your best friend! I would STRONGLY recommend them to any friends and family members (I have!) and nobody I know has ever been disappointed. I love Aras Promotions and so does everyone else who works for them or books them as talent! :)

Shocking! False Claim

#9UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

This claim is ridiculous. I have no idea who or which person would want to say this about Aras. It seems as though it is a desperate act from a competitor in order to
attempt to regain some business? I cannot think of an any other reason someone
would take the time to write this false claim.

Since I have worked with Aras (about 4 years now) I have never had any of these
so called "issues" falsely stated. I love working with them and will not work with any other local agency. If a person was contacted "for one or two jobs," this is also false. STATEWIDE Aras is growing rapidly and if the girls want to work they defintely have the oppurtunity!!

The owner is incredibly professional and so is the company. Anyone who has actually worked for the company or has done business with the company knows this.

The Real Aras Promotions

#10UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

As a 31 year old that at one point carried a six figure position, I am used to an independent work environment.  When I found myself looking for a good paying part time gig, I came across Aras through a friend.  I could not be more grateful for the position this company plays in my life.  The owner is not only dedicated to running a successful business, but to holding her models and HERSELF to the highest standards.  I have had no complaints with Aras in 3 years, and have not once had a delay in pay.  I can only hope those who have read the above report take matters into their own hands and choose to become educated on the real Aras promotions.  I would NOT recommend turning down an opportunity to be a part of Sara's team.

Aras is Awesome to Work For!

#11UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

I am shocked by this report!  I have worked as an independent contractor for 3 years.  I was made fully aware of my employment status with Aras (independent contractor) upon hire.  No secrets there!  Employment is at will and we can pick up shifts when we desire.  With that said, as independent contractors, if we do not represent a brand well, it is up to the promotional agency to no longer contract us.  If you are interested in Aras, go for it!  We have the BEST reputation around.  All the distributors love working with the Aras team because we knowledgable, friendly, and professional team members.  If you hear something negative about Aras, you should pause to consider the source.

Inaccurate Claim

#12UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

I have worked for Aras for a number of years now and have had a wonderful experience! We do sign contracts and are Independent Contractors unlike the complaint suggests.

I have NEVER had a problem getting paid on time and the business has always been run in a very professional manner.

In fact I referred a good friend who is now employed by Aras and absolutely loves it and how smoothly it is run. I truly enjoy my work with the company and find this complaint totally ridiculous and highly inaccurate.

Best promotion company I have ever worked for!

#14UPDATE Employee

Wed, December 14, 2011

I am currently an independent contractor who works with Aras Promotions. I have worked in the event marketing industry for many years and have done business with many local and national agencies. I can tell you without any reservations that this company is a class act. The owner is an effective communicator and is a pleasure to work with. I can not say one bad thing about my experience with this organization. I refuse to do business with any other local agency that handles this type of work after my positive experiences with the organization. The owner is a professional in every sense of the word. Other agencies in this market do not provide the same level of courtesy and service that this one does. I recommend Aras every chance I get. I can understand why other agencies are intimidated by Aras Promotions. They are doing everything right.

No accuracy to this complaint

#15UPDATE Employee

Fri, August 05, 2011

LOL!!! I cannot help but laugh at how inaccurate this is!  Obviously someone with very little information about Aras wrote this.  I have been an **INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR** with Aras for four years now, actually we do sign contracts, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the owner and the whole company itself!   Not once have I ever received late payment, we get our checks the same time every month...

You should educate yourself a bit more before you make such a ridiculous claim...

Uninformed Competitor

#16REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, July 08, 2011

This complaint was written by a very uninformed competitor who has been attempting to hinder our business through slander and libel.  The information contained in the report is not logical as she does not have knowledge of our company structure.  Our company is in good standing with the state and we operate our business within all the state employment guidelines.  Our attorneys have addressed the issue directly with the author of the report.  The fact that a competitor has to go on a website like this in an attempt to damage our reputation is not only disappointing, but an unprofessional way for her to conduct business.  Since our inception our growing list of clients have had nothing but positive feed back and glowing praise for us.  We thank all of them for their continued support.
