Maia, I will look at your information and listen to your voice recordings. We are trying to resolve all incidences of these reports. I've found most of the time the problem is the people are not willing to talk to us. Please contact me at [email protected] and I'll see what I can do for you. As a legal student you should understand the idea of relying on hearsay to support your argument. You can end up making illegal, actionable, damaging statements about a company. The web is full of people making all manner of allegations, and usually it is based on an emotional desire to vent emotionally. I've found so far that the statements are often completely fallacious in nature, with details left out to make them look good, and companies look bad. But I also know things can slip through that really need to be taken care of, and that is what I am attempting to do. Since we don't make our money on a first time purchase, we rely on happy renewing customers. Making you unhappy is not our desire! I would love to help you. Please do contact me at the e-mail address given. We are trying to make a lot of people happy, and as our complaint ratio is very low, hearing things such as you describe bothers me. Of course if someone makes an agreement and then wants to back out later, the law does offer resolution. We prefer to use customer service! If you purchased and then decided later not to pay, the gifts and magazines would never come because of an 8-12 week delay on the part of the magazine companies (we wish we could change that but it's not within our capability). Please read some of the other replies I've put on this site. I'd really like to help you if I can. If you made an agreement and can't pay, sometimes there are ways we can help. It does cost us money when people refuse to pay something they agreed to. Again, contact me... I'd like to make you happy enough to stay with us and renew! I'd also like to see you happy enough to take some time to write a retraction on this. Give me a chance to try, Sincerely, Burt Bellows Area Circulation Director of IT

I would file a small claims against them for "failure to perform." You might also try to dispute the charges through your credit card company or bank. You don't give enough information as to what, where, when you engaged their services or the conditions of your contract. Also, their website gives a mailing address (and little else) so I would send them a certified, return receipt requested letter, stating what magazines you have not received, your dissatisfaction based on their failure to perform and a demand for cancellation and refund of funds for the magazines you have not received. There is an old adage "if it's not in writing, it didn't happen." You need to stop talking and start writing when dealing with them. You may also wish to file a complaint with the FTC and the NY State Attorney General's Office (see appropriate websites.)
