6 pairs of sterling silver earring mounts with dangles were sent for Rhodium plating. The shipment was never acknowledged nor any further response given. Materials never returned. In short stolen.
Quite a clever scam actually, the victims send the goods right to you. The nature of the service, plating of expensive jewelery and the like make the booty inherently valuable and easy to get rid of.
Do yourself a favor, use a reputable local service or do it yourself. (((Redacted))) has some nice cheap kits.

I just recieved an angry call from Dave at Artisan claiming that I am slandering him because I have this report up claiming he kept my wife's jewerly. It's true I'm afraid. I forgot to update this report when several months later flollowing many unanswered emails and many threats from my wife. The settings finally showed back up. Apparently Dave wrote in his return letter all those months later that he couldn't plate them because the closures were soldered. Something I mentioned in my email when I sent them. Still I have my goods back even if I had to listen to my wife for much of the time it took. Dave made a point of telling me on the phone that he wouldn't bother to purloin a miserable pair of earings. I made of point of NOT relating that to my wife.
