I purchased a couch, loveseat, cocktail table, end table, dining room table, 4 side-chairs, and 2 arm-chairs....$3,300 worth of furniture from Ashley Furniture in the beginning of February 2006. Upon receiving my furniture in mid-March all except the couch, 3 side-chairs, and 1 arm-chair.....EVERY PIECE OF FURNITURE WAS DAMAGED AND/OR BROKEN!!!

I immediately returned the damaged/broken furniture to the wharehouse, and was told that I would recieve most of my replacement/fixed pieces in a week, and the rest within two weeks. Two weeks passed by.... no call from the wharehouse or the homestore. I called the store for an update and was told "It hasn't come in yet it is going to be another two weeks." In this two week period my monthly payment for $3,300 came around. Which I paid, but called the homestore and asked that I not be billed for furniture not received. The impression was given that I had signed the contract and since they weren't the financing company, they could not do anything about it, and quite frankly seemed that they could care less. The two week period ends....still no furniture. Called the homestore again and got the same response... "Didn't come will be here in two weeks"......

It is now JUNE 2nd 2006!!! and I just received my loveseat last weekend. I asked about the other furniture...any guesses what they told me?......"It hasn't come in yet, give it another week". Well that week ended today. I called the store today and they told me "I'm not sure I will have to search the order, I will call you back in a couple of minutes". Half an hour passes, and I call them back..."still searching, I will call you in a few minutes". An hour and a half later... "I am still searching, I don't have a computer so I have to do it by hand". Half an hour later they call me..."still hasn't made it here, gonna be another week or two". It dawned on me just then that when I went to pick up my loveseat last weekend that the showroom no longer had my furniture set on display. So I asked him "Have they discontinued that line of furniture?" put me on hold. "No it is still available". I called every other Ashley Furniture store in the area and guess what they told me.... "Yes it has been discontinued".

After several hours of digging I found the number to the headquarters in Arcadia, WI. and place a call to Customer Affairs. I was told that each store was independently owned and operated, and that she would email her contact for this homestore.22

So what it has now boiled down to is that I have $1,200 worth of furniture in my house, but I am paying for $3,300 worth of furniture that I have not even had the pleasure of seeing.
