I purchased furniture from ashley furniture and bought the 5 yesr extended warranty. I was moving my furniture around and after I finished, I noticed punctures and rips on the side of the couch. So I called montage right away and let them know that there was damage to my furniture.

They requested all the information and I submitted all the information that they ask for. Then I get a email from them a few days later saying my claim was denied because the "amount of damage is not from moving furniture." WHAT? So they are calling me a lier?  I spoke with a manager, well i assumed she was a manager and she said the same thing. UM NO! My furniture is damaged and I need it repaired. I paid good money for the furniture and for the so called warranty.

The manager said she would take it up with her manager and call me back. I told her we paid for the warranty and all i want is my furniture fixed under my warranty. Then I get a VM from the same manager who I just spoke with and said that my claim is denied and that they will not repair my furniture.

We will NOT be doing business with Ashley furniture again EVER!! This was our first time and our last time. So basically since the damage on my furniture does not look like what they think it is suspose to look like they are denying my claim. This is BS and I will be contacting the BBB on them as well. I want my furniture fixed!!

Well since my warranty states " For accidental Damage" I guess this would apply to my furniture.

A warrenty IS NOT 100% protection from life. YOU may have only noticed the damages when you moved it, but they deny your claim because the damages appear to be MORE then from just moving furniture around. This is why your claim was denied. It doesnt mean that Ashleys is bad. It doesnt mean your warrenty is bad. It only means that YOU have made assumptions as to WHAT your warrenty covers.

Stop your whining, thats first. Second is find your warrenty paperwork. Then READ IT!!! This way you will be FULLy informed as to what your warrenty covers. If it DOESNT state ACCIDENTAL DAMAGES then you will just have to live with your furniture as it is. You can WANT and RANT and POST all you like. It still wont change that the warrenty that you have only covers so much.

As I said before a warrenty is NOT 100% protection for what life throws at you. YOU as the consumer NEED to know what is covered under the terms of your warrenty. Once you have that information you will be better armed to go up against a CS rep.

And good luck with the BBB. They have no teeth or power. Much like RoR it is just a place the consumer can call and bi+ch. Even if their complaint has no merit it is still logged. The BBB is an extorsion scheme.
