I accessed my credit report for the first time yesterday and started checking it out. I discovered I have a bunch of inquiries from some companies I didnt recognize. I looked alittle closer and discovered that it was the same company using 5 different names and 2 different addresses. And 15 inquiries in the last 3 years.
Names were; Tribute/ FBOFD, Salute/UTB, Aspen/FB&T, Aspire/ CB&T, CB&T. The 2 addresses that were used were; 6 Concourse PKWY NE FL 2 Atlanta, GA. 30328 The other; P.O Box 105555 Atlanta, GA. 30348.
Through research I figured out it is a credit card company, but I dont have any credit cards. And the only ones I ever did have were through my bank 2 years ago. How did these people get my info. how do I make them leave me and my credit alone?

There are two types of inquires on a credit report: a "hard" inquiry is when you physically fill out an application for new credit....This is the type of inquiry you want to be careful about because too many can damage your credit score. The other type is a "soft" inquiry...where credit card companies are fishing for new clients to make offers to....These types of inquiries DO NOT affect your credit score whatsoever. It sounds like the inquires you mentioned fall into this category.
