Asurion through AT&T Misleading ripoff Internet
I just want to warn anyone thinking about signing up with the insurance company Asurion with AT&T. It is a BIG rip-off. You pay $6.99 a month thinking that is will cover your phone in case something happens to it, but what they don't tell you up front is you will have to pay a deducible up to $199. And it's non-refundable.
I filled a claim with them for my phone when I thought the charging port wasn't working. So they send me a new iPhone 6, and I get changed the $149 deductible. Well, as it turns out there was some lint in my charging port, which I was able to get out. Since my original phone worked I didn't need the new phone that was sent to me. I spoke to a few different representatives at Asurion and told them what had happened. I said I didn't want to pay the $149 if I'm going to send the phone back. I was told I wouldn't have to pay anything once they got the phone back. Well, it's been two months and the chanrge is still on my AT&T bill.
I did a live chat with someone on Asurion and they told me it was upfront from the beginnng when filling a claim for a new phone that there is a non-refundable deductible. No, there isn't. If I had know that was the case I woulnd't have sent the new iPhone back. Since I guess I had pad for it. Unless you look in the terms and conditions you're unaware that it is non-refunadble. It's bull that I'm out of a new phone and $149.
If I'm paying $6.99 a month for insurnace, I was under the impression that if something happened to my phone I wouldn't need to pay fpr anything. It's such a ripoff. I would caution anyone before signing up with Asurion. They never tell you in the beginning you'll be repsonsible for still paying a non-refundable deduactible. This comany is a joke.
