Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After a little rooting around, I was able to: 1. Use the banking information to track the money to the billing company for ATHOMEREWARDS.COM. 2. Find the toll-free number to the BILLING COMPANY. 3. Obtain a "real" person through the "Place Order" phone automation sub-routine. 4. Demand and recieve a reversal of charges, and transaction number (VERY IMPORTANT). 5. Forward an E-Mail through the "CONTACT US" portal on the BILLING COMPANYs' Web site demanding them to stop charging my account, return my money, and my intentions if they did not comply.

THEY RETURNED MY MONEY IN ONE BILLING CYCLE!

TRACK THE MONEY! I have found that most of the "Rip-off" companies use a billing "Clearing House" to move their (my) money. The companies do not advertise who they are using, and quite frankly, DO NOT want this information known. Alas! Billing Clearing houses give you all the information you need in your billing statements. A little research on the net and all the information for the billing center is available.

Since the Billing Clearing house is probably not directly affiliated with the "Rip-Off" company and only process the recieved orders and bill the "customer", they are a seperate organization. THEY HAVE THEIR OWN REPUTATION AT STAKE!

Now, FamilyTVProducts.com out of Van Eyes(sp), California is (or was as of 1/08) the billing center for ATHOMEREWARDS.com, and can be reached at 888-425-5874. I made several attempts through the phone automation system to contact customer service. Forget it, it's a dead end. Select the "Place Order" routine and you will be connected really quickly to a "REAL" person more than ready to "take your order". Be really, really friendly. After all, the person on the other end of the line is in most cases a college graduate, and most certainly multi-lingual. GET THEIR NAME; nicely; really, really friendly. This is your new best friend, until you hang-up. I talked with Rosie, sweet person.

Rosie told my everything I needed to know; what their company does, where they are located, what the weather was like there, sympothy about the oppressed working class, her supervisor's name ( Donna, couldn't get the extension, shucks), what my weather was like, her nice voice, then my problem (sugar? salt? flys?). Simple, and concise: I did not order a product from their customer, stop billing my account, and return my money.

Since most order takers are not accustomed to this type of transaction they will "inform" processing (Email with confirmation/reference number) of your request. Ask for the confirmation/reference number. Rosie, bless her, gave me the reference number without asking. GAME OVER!

With the confirmation/reference number my account manager was able to stop payments, and have a tool enabling the return of my money. I know the aggrivation and time spent can not be "refunded", however, the problem was resolved to my satisfaction.

I will report that the above sequence of events worked for me. I may have just been lucky, but maybe this approach will help someone.

HAPPILY SCAMLESS!

Michael
