I moved into Atlantic Realty's newly constructed luxury apartment building back in the early part of 2007. When I moved into my apartment the building was less than one year old and I was the first resident to move into my apartment as was everyone else who was moving into the building.
Immediately upon my move in date is when everything got interesting (to say the least). Within my first week I had a punch list which included problems with my heat, problems with my hot water constantly running out, mis-matched color tiles in the bathroom, missing grout from around my tiles, appliances were not working or connected, my granite countertop wasn't sealed, my carpet was shedding fibers by just walking on it, the entire apartment needed to be repainted due to a horrible initial pant job, my bathroom and kitchen fixtures all had paint and plaster stains, my alarm system wasn't working, I wasn't given keys to my mailbox, my parking spot was directly beneath some dripping construction materials, my smoke detectors were broken, some of the shelves in my apartment were broken or missing, etc.
The above list are just the major issues I had with my apartment. In addition I had been lied to by building rental agents because they told me the apartment building was built in such a way to isolate noise. THIS WAS NOT TRUE! Out of all the buildings I had ever lived in Towne Centre was by far the worst when it came to noise. The noise problem was so bad that I could hear my right ABOVE ME use the bathroom or close the draw to his night stands!!!
In addition building rental agents told me that all the building amenities such as the screening room, gym and childrens play areas would be ready a couple of weeks after I moved in which was another lie. It took upwards to six months before all those amenities were ready. The two biggest lies I was told was that there was rail service to NYC within walking distance of the building and that the building was going to build a swimming pool. BOTH ARE NOT TRUE.
I've tried to work with management but they just kept on feeding me lies after lies and acted in the most unprofessional manner you could imagine. They're approach is to send another manager to speak to you in hopes that you would give up. Because of all these issues I along with dozens of others have filed law suits against the building and Management Company.
By now you get an idea of who Atlantic Realty Development Corporation, Inc., Middlesex Management, Englewood Terrace, LLC and Garden Apartments are. If you see any of these names on a rental agreement RUN!

Middlesex Management is the worst. They are the rudest people I ever had to deal with ever since we moved to New Jersey. They make me want to leave this State. First of all, the practically have the rental monopoly in Middlesex New Jersey which is part of the problem. They treat you like you are nobody because they know that they can have all the units rented quickly, especially with today's housing market. We were first in the bottom floor apartment which was a big mistake. We could not sleep to save our lives because of the noise from upstairs. That was mostly due to poor construction and no carpet in the second and third floors. We tried to complain but that was a big waist of time. All they did was send letters. We decided to move to the top floor the following year which another big mistake. We had problem getting our deposit back from the first apartment and had to give another deposit for the second. We still have 4500 dollars out there and we moved two months ago. So many issues. The only good thing I have to say about that place is its close proximity to everything. Aside from that, maintenance, customer service (there is none), quality of construction is very poor, esthetic only looks good on the outside, but the inside is poor. And the worst of all is the people working there. They give rudeness a new name. If I ever acted like that at my job being a Civil Engineer, I would get fired on the spot. The worst is the I've had no luck to complain to anyone except here so avoid them at all cost. They have many complexes so beware with a capitol B......

In response to some of the comments on this blog about Towne Centre at Englewood, the property's management is very grateful to those of you who have expressed satisfaction with the great services and amenities provided and the beautiful look of these new apartment homes. Of course, there are always challenges associated with the early stages of new construction, and we are involved in several upgrades and improvements to address these challenges. Currently, we are upgrading the garage lobby and attending to garage maintenance and will continue to make improvements along the way. We are committed to making Towne Centre the premier apartment community in the Englewood area. Towne Centre at Englewood is nearing full occupancy, and the many tenants now happily living in this new luxury rental community are busy enjoying Towne Centre's amenities such as the popular free Sunday breakfast, including a buffet, omelet station, hot and cold foods, and pastries; free coffee each morning; around-the-clock concierge services; a fully equipped fitness center; a movie theater with complementary refreshments; indoor and outdoor play areas for the children; business facilities and conference area; a pool table, and so much more. Although we continually strive to expand the amenities and services available to the residents at Towne Centre, the availability of each amenity and service may change in response to tenant feedback. Our goal continues to be to provide tenants with the utmost in apartment living. Things are so bad at Towne Centre of Englewood that residents created a website which features a discussion forum and have posted countless issues with Altantic Realty Development Corp. The website address is lifeattownecentre.com. Check it out!
