Dayana Rios is the name of the sales associate who promised my wife an iPad 4 for $100, plus a $10/month phone line, if she purchased a new iPhone 8.
I rushed home from work and picked our 6-year-old daughter up from after-school care and told her the good news -- that we could finally afford to get her her own iPad! I had intended to purchase a new iPhone 8 as well.
My wife made the purchase and -- "so, sorry," Dayana said, "but the iPad special expired yesterday. There's nothing we can do."
Now our daughter is crying herself to sleep. What an awesome store this is!

We have no idea about the true timing of when your wife was told what. We also don't know the exact interaction with the sales person.
If you are the least bit serious the real sad part is you attempting to bring a 6 year old into this. If this 6 year old is really crying herself to sleep because she can't get a new iPad...you as a parent need to step back and see what you are really teaching her.

Sales people can and will say anything. This creates the importance of writing, improving the odds against fluffing. Unless you had a paper , or anything in writing claiming such a great offer. Bringing minors into this is teaching her entitlement.
