October 2002 I purchased a home in Bastrop Texas. Since then it has been a nightmare and I have never woke up.

To start Thanksgiving day of 2002 it rained and the septic system backed up into the house. It was a wonderful site and smell especially with my family and friends being here. Every time it rains now this happens.

The yard and surrounding area was built into a "fish bowl" and all the water just accumulates around the house and creates a moat. Several times, I have had to take off from work to rent water pumps to keep the water from entering the house. The same builder built my neighbor's house and they do not have the same problem. Only my house has the moat that floods.

Ripoffreport Report Image

Cracks have begun to surface throughout the house. Almost every corner and every room has cracks and or some type of seperation.

The builder had someone come and "caulk" the cracks and seperation in the walls. This looks tacky for a new home concidering the caulk is bright white and the walls are off white. Not to mention everyone asking why the walls are caulked.

The kitchen counter seperated from the wall it is supposed to be attached to.

I am guessing the builder ran out of tile because there is obviously mis matched tiles used for the floor.

The A/C condenser drain line is sticking up in the air and I have to use blocks of wood to allow it to drain freely.

The foundation is now beginning to crack and expose the pipes. This is not only unsightly but it is also a possible problem. I know I live in Central Texas but if it ever froze I would be up a creek because the pipes are exposed.

The front porch joists are beginning to move out of place. Mind you I work in electronics and I do not know much about structure but, this is not good.

Here it is June 2003 and all that has been repaired on the house is a sink (which was missing from the laundry room). The reversed operation of the plumbing(turn on the cold water and hot comes out) on two sinks and a leaking shower.

I have emailed, called, met in person, had numerous meetings with these people with no results. A direct quote from the builder was "If we can't build the houses in 90 days we do not make any money". If 90 days is all it takes why would I be waiting for 6+ months to have the necessary repairs made to the house in a timely fashion?

I have notified the Property owners association, HUD, City and County personnel, EPA, County Heath Inspectors, my lender and insurance agency. No one seems to be interested in the pictures or video or the health hazard this is.

If anyone has any advise or any suggestions please post them. At this time I am willing to try anything to solve this problem. Please help ! ! ! !

I have email after email of promises, plans, and scheduled meetings for the repairs needed to the home.

To all the members involved in the problems with the house I sent this report to: Here are the problems and the chance to show the world that you are a decent company with personnel who care about after sale relationships. Or you can ignore it like you have me for so long.

During the week or so after I emailed Buzz and Jeff (Austinloan represenatives) a copy of the ripoff report there has been quite a stir. However there has been no communication from Jeff or Buzz to me for the possibility of a resolution. 07/02/2003 I received a phone call from the water district stating that according to engineers my home was built on a natural drain. They stated that there was not much hope in finding a resolution to the flooding due to the house being built too low. They requested a copy of my video of the flooding and lack of drainage footage. The 07/02/2003 a worker came to the house to repair the following items: Drain line for the A/C unit. Nice job. Interior cracks and seperation. Still missed a few spots. Painting over the cracks and seperation. Doesn't match used different paint? Replaced miss-matched tile. Nice job. Front porch joists. Looks hideous try again. Foundation cracks. Looks accecptable but hope it holds. 07/03/2003 I dropped off the video at the water district and surprisingly all of a sudden there is a possible solution. I do not see it nor do I see where overnight they can come up with that when they had never seen the video or been out there when it rains. What is the miracle solution ??? 07/06/2003 the septic installer shows up. He repairs a broken line (second time since instalation). Stated that the unit will keep backing up into the house every time it rains due to the amount of water entering the system because the yard and adjoining yards rain water accumulates around my house and septic system. Austinloan when will the problems be fixed appropriately? Also all of the trim paint around the house has been coming off. It appears that they only applied one coat. Was it cheap paint or just a cheap out on the contractor labor cost by only applying one coat? Austinloan I know you received this report. When will you let the public know what you intend on doing about it? I will close by stating I have many more pic's and quite a bit of video of the problems I have addressed here. For some reason I can not add more pic's than what I already have. Sorry maybe the EDitor can help with that one. I would like to ask that if you read this please leave comments and or suggestions. I believe that the more that Austinloan sees that the public is watching the more they are pressed into a response. So help me out and show the ripoff companies that we are watching and we will let the public know who they are.
