Auto Finder $150 dollars per Ad and they guarantee to tell your vehicle in 10 days or your money back Calgary Alberta
A man by the name of "Matthew" will phone you claiming he is from Calgary and that he saw your ad for a vehicle your trying to sell on autotrader.com HUGE HUGE HUGE SCAM!!!!!
1) There is no place in Calgary called "AUTO FINDER" located under the address he will give you.
2) The phone number he provides immediately goes to a voicemail that says "please leave a message I will call you back" in a female's voice....if it was a legit company they would at least state the companies name, hours of operation, ext numbers ect.
3) He will constantly "phone you back"....you can't phone him.
4) His number comes up as private on your caller ID
5) The website he gives you doesn't have a "contact us" section, and half of the website doesn't work AND the search forms are all american based...isn't he from Canada?
6) They do not take visa or mastercard over the phone, they want to do a debit transaction online....yes because were going to give you our banking information!?!. Why do they do this? they claim it's "safer" and that they will only do credit card transactions in person with photo ID.
7) After confronting him about my speculation of his deal being a possible scam he gave me his song and dance story about how he is absolutely legit and that the forums online are regarding a different company called "Canadian Auto Finder" and that his company has such amazing reviews and ethat they ven own a magazine full of great reviews!
8) This was the final conversation........
me: "Ok, I respect what your saying....however i'd like to think about it, can you call me in the morning?"
him: "uhhh, can i call u back in a half hour?"
me: "well, id really like to sleep on it, why can't you phone me back in the morning? (it was ten o'clock on a tuesday night btw)
him: "well, we have buyers for this vehicle right now, and it's such a good deal! and I can't guarantee that I can sell it for you in the morning.....can i call u back in an hour?"
me: "no, forget about it..."
him: "why's that?"
me: "theres forums all over the internet claiming your a scam, half your website doesnt work, theres no record of this company under the address you gave me, I can't phone you....but you can phone me and you won't wait until the morning...don't ever phone me again."
The phone call ended, and thank goodness I didn't release any of my banking info to him. PLEASE BEWARE EVERYBODY!!!
