Automobile Inspections, LLC The old bait and switch routine Internet
I requested Automobile Inspections to carry out a pre-purchase inspection on a classic Ford Mustang ('65 Fastback GT - very nice too).
The price was agreed on at $379 for the inspection plus $25 for a valuation. The place was agreed on at Charlotte, NC. The timeframe was agreed on 'within 72 hrs (3 working days)'.
On the day of the scheduled inspection I received a phone call to let me know that their Charlotte inspector was on holiday and they would have to bring in another inspector from out of town. They told me that if I did not approve of an additional $86 to cover the travel costs they would not perform the inspection for another week.
I stupidly agreed to pay the extra cost despite the fact the I had done nothing to incur the cost as I wanted to progress the purchase of the car. So on their website they advertise one price, but just when there's some action they come in with the 'extras'.
This wouldn't be so bad but they've since charged my credit card the full $490 despite their own website stating that no inspection has taken place and that no report is available. The website of Automobile Inspections says that a client credit card will not be charged until an inspector commences their journey to the vehicle.
I'm off to visit my bank soon to see if thay can help with reversing the charges. See ya later Automobiles Inspections. The car buying public can do without companies like you.
