Complaint Review: Available Movers & Storage - Astoria New York

Available Movers gave me a quote of $3154.13. A much larger company gave me an honest quote of $5,000.00 to do the same job. So I chose AM because they seemed honest. These men are thieves. They stole 14 boxes worth of goods. They arrived at my new home after 10 days (4 days after the last delivery date on the quote) at 10:30pm. On my way down their driver called me; he was happy to tell me that he would be one day early. His boss Alex called me later the same day and told me the truck would not be early.

He was angry that he got only $300.00 from me. He wanted $500.00 in cash. This was after increasing my quote by a factor of 3. His men could not speak English or read the language. Two minutes after I told him not to take a small stack that was set aside and labeled Crown Vic; he told his men to take it and load it. That pile contained enough dishes, silverware, blankets, etc. to get me through until the end of the time period that my delivery was scheduled to be the "moving timeline". He stole everything in that pile. I had to spend $500 just to buy what I had to replace part of what was in the pile; It also contained a pair of $1000.00 subwoofers in their original boxes.

He also demanded cash or a check. I paid him with my Visa Account.  In addition I was unable to call the original driver after I spoke with Alex. It took a very long time to discover all of the missing items. My Mothers wedding ring that was worth $2000 in 1954 was missing. It may be worth more that the $8900 that was stolen from me or broken in the move. Stereo equipment worth about $2500 was also stolen or broken. I would have called the police on them if I had realized that my Visa card would not give me back 100% of the money they stole from me. All they would give me was $3500 of the $8900 that they stole. They also cost me several thousand dollars worth of damage.

They actually owe me well over $6000 in addition to what they charged me. I have seen many similar complaints on evaluation sites like this one. They are often followed by short reviews that are almost word for word the same short review that gives them the highest marks. I believe that all of the good reviews are fake. I do not expect to ever get my money back. 

I am going to turn them over to the FBI, however, and I expect that their mafia style of business will be shut down eventually.  If you hire these guys they will be late and they will steal your valuables and they will destroy anything fragile. An entire box which is marked Glass Fragile was smashed. These glasses were collectors items. Some were gifts from family members who are not alive anymore! 

You may as well give away all of your valuables if you want to hire these guys. They will be stolen or broken if you hire them. They are criminals of the worst sort. All of my valuables are broken or listed as being in Rochester NY at their warehouse. I have found dozens of complaints just like mine. 

Do yourself a favor and don't even think about using these crooks.
