We live in a complex where you need a parking pass to park your car which is fine because we have 5 passes we were given when we moved here. we have two clingy stick passes and 3 yellow tags that hang on your mirror. Anyway there is a spot in our complex where there are three spots and two of them are long enough for two cars. So my husband and I park both in one spot and have done so for 2yrs.

Anyway his truck has been in that spot for a while without a hassle with a cling pass on it. He usually rides a scooter to work to save $ on gas. anyway his scooter went flat so for the past three days he has been driving to work in his truck.

well yesterday there were a lot of people without a pass parking because the complex next door had their lots roped off due to construction. so someone called security which my husband was talking to the guy who did when he did it. So anyway he parked his truck after getting his tire for the scooter and put my brand new suv with a pass behind it like always. Well anyway sometime between 8pm and 6am it was towed.

so we call the tow company and they said the security called them to do it so we called them and i was told there was no pass. anyway so i told them where the pass was located so they called the tow place and 45min passed by and i got a call back and had told me there was no pass. I was instructed to go to the yard and take a look at the car to see if i can find it.

So i go to the yard with my husband and 2yr old in tow. I call the yard to tell them i am there to look inside the truck and i was told no then i was placed on hold and they said someone will come show me the truck. Well my husband saw the gate open and went in the back. He looked and the pass was GONE! the truck was unlocked with the yard gate OPEN! and where the pass was, there was a bunch of finger prints all over. so i wanted to take a picture of it and the guy told me we have to either pay to get the car out or leave.

So i called the Santa Ana police who were not helpful. anyway we paid the 260 to get the car out and my husband took his truck to the Newport Beach police since it was towed from Newport beach and was Santa Ana's reason to not be involved. They took the fingerprints and said they would look into it and wrote it down as petty theft since the pass is 50 bucks to replace.
