Axia College /western International University/ University Of Phoenix I was a guinea pig for Axia College Phoenix Arizona
I was in the first set of classes for Western International University,which they later renamed Axia College. It is part of University of Phoenix.I had to wait months to get my financial aid, sometimes they reduced the amount before even telling me. And then they would have a lame excuse as to why it was reduced.
I could never get a hold of my academic advisors and they even changed them without letting me know, for weeks I had a temporary advisor.My financial aid advisor didnt want to talk to me, since I was so pissed off about the changes and delays in my financial aid.
I had two classes left and failed them since my husband was away and I was taking care of my father who had terminal cancer.They offered to let me retake them for free because of the extenuating circumstances. My dad died while I was taking one of the "free" classes, and I didn't pass the class again. Then I got a letter from the financial aid office saying I owed $1600.00 boy I was pissed! I called them and they said I couldnt take the other class, since I owed money and so I quit that class since I didnt have the money.I called back another time and was told it wasnt 1600 it was around 500. Now they will not release my transcripts to the college I am at now which will cost me thousands more,it means taking another year of school. Don't go to this school if you havent already, you probably will be sorry.
