This happened to someone in MI, and it was all over the news. Someone in this lady's family was diagnosed with cancer, and she had only had the membership for 30 days and never used it once. She was in the same spot as you, had to spend all her extra time and money helping out, and she tried to cancel the contract but they wouldn't let her. She called a local news station, and they were able to get Bally's to cancel the contract for no cost. Bally's is also in the middle of a lawsuit right now, for contract issues I believe. They don't want anymore bad press.
