Bank Of America bogus overdraft fees, Rockford Illinois Carpentersville Illinois
After hearing several complaints from my mother regarding overdraft charges on her Bank Of America account,I knew it would be a matter of time before I would have the same complaints. My account has been open for about 6 months now,and I rarely make deposits. On Oct 27th I made a cash deposit of $100.00 into my checking account at around 6:45 PM.
When I returned home, I checked my account online to make sure the funds were available so that I could make a transfer of $23.00 into my savings account,it said that the funds were available, so I transferred the funds. When I checked my account Oct 29th ,I was charged a $19.00 overdraft fee for the return of the $23.00 transfer to my savings account.
I immediately phoned customer service, and I was informed that the $100.00 cash deposit that I made on Oct 27th actually wasn't available until oct 28th, so when I made the transfer into my savings,the funds actually weren't available,even though when I checked my account the same day it said that they were. Now my savings account is negative because they returned the deposit, and I was charged an overdraft.Fortunately I was credited the $19.00,I'm waiting till monday to see if they will charge an overdraft on my savings, but as soon as I get a chance, I am closing my account because I believe Bank of America is a scam, they tell you that the funds are available online when infact they're not,they juggle transactions so that they can charge a fee. It's not right,if there is anyone filing a suit against the company and need witnesses, I'd be willing to provide any information.
