Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
God can you stand another Bank of America ripoff?

My husband has an account with Fleet and learned 2 weeks ago that he could make cash deposits into the account through Bank of America since the two banks are merging.

Ok, so he makes the deposit, he checks the account the next day and nothing. He makes the necessary phone calls and VOILA! it seems that someone "lost" the deposit. The teller says she distinctly remembers my husband making the deposit but can't for the life of her figure out where it went...hmmmmm

After several phone conversations with Fleet and BOA his complaint is lost in investigation hell! He was told by Fleet that they are looking for these types of problems because they don't REALLY want to merge with BOA and that if BOA didn't refund his money that Fleet would refund it to him "within a week" well... that hasn't happened.

So what can you do? You have the deposit receipt, the teller positively remembers who you are and taking your money but somehow the computer ate it. Boy that puts a whole new twist on "the dog ate my homework" excuse doesn't it?

I just wish the computer could s**t and turn $125.00 dollars into $125,000 dollars and just "lose" it into my hubby's account, never to be heard from again :D

Bank of America: Lower Standards

#2Consumer Suggestion

Mon, November 08, 2004

I read your comment and I sympathize with you. I had a similar thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago, and it was like "pulling teeth" to get Fleet Bank/Bank of America to give me any straight answers, let alone resolve the problem. My issue with Bank of America involved making a cash deposit to my checking account with a teller at a Bank of America branch in New York City, only to have that deposit "lost"!!! After making DOZENS of calls to Bank of America personnel, filing a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and ultimately threatening to file a suit against them in Small Claims Court, my deposit was finally credited to my account ALMOST 2 WEEKS AFTER MAKING MY DEPOSIT! (see the Rip-Off Report which I filed- http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff113369.htm) If your issue with Bank of America has not yet been resolved to your satisfaction, I suggest that you file a complaint against the bank with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. (see the OCC website for more information- http://www.occ.gov/customer.htm.) I have since closed my checking account with Bank of America, and I will never do business with them again! If I were you, I would do likewise! Good luck, Cheri!!!
