Barret Jackson Fraudulent Serial Numbers Scottsdale AZ
I purchased a 1966 Dodge Coronet and paid for it shipped it to my home in Maryland no problem trasfering the title and getting plates. I then moved to Arizona and took the car to the State to have it inspected only to find out that the serial number had been removed and replaced. So upon further investigaion I realized I had bought a stolen or illegally numbered car. They had put the number on the door jamb backwards. I then just found out about a company in Canada that makes and provides vin tags with any number or any make one desires. I sold the car at the same auction two years ago and took a ten thousand dollar loss. I didn't dare go to any authorities because of fear that I would lose the car altogether and wojuld be useless to go up against a comamy like Barrett Jackson. This must be happening to many a nonsuspecting buyer. There are many hidden places to verify serial numbers and I wish the DMV would go there and inspect some of the so called rare cars that they advertise and sell because they just did not survive the sixties and seventys like they portray. No I did not buy a million dollar car, only a thirty thousand one but this stuff has been going on way to long ans as the economy rebounds so do the fraudelent cars.
