These people are the biggest rip-off to hit the Internet. I am sure that there are many more techs who have been screwed by them. IF they actually pay you, they send you a check in 30 days. If you want to get paid more quickly, by direct deposit like most other sites do, they rip you off for another 10 percent. If you are late, they expect you to pay them a $200.00 penalty.
They want to pay a flat fee, and expect you to spend as much time as it takes, even if it means completely disassembling the printer, and putting it completely back together again. You could be the fourth person out there, and they hold you responsible for whatever the previous techs have done. They will do everything they can, and make up any excuse they can, to not pay you.
I went out on a job, to replace a part. The customer's toner cartridge was leaking toner all over the place. I replaced the part, and tried to clean up the toner, but the customer did not have another toner cartridge. After completing the job, and getting the customer's sign off, I received an e-mail, telling me they had to send another tech to clean up the mess I had left, and I would not be getting paid.
I had another tech go out on a job. They wanted him to replace two parts, that would require completely taking apart the printer, and putting it back together. No intelligent person would try to do this on the customer's desk. If the parts don't fix the problem, even though somebody else recommended them, you will not get paid for installing the part. I suspect that he was the 5th technician on this job, because the previous 4 refused to return. One of them took the printer apart, and dropped one of the parts on the floor, where it got kicked underneath the desk. Judging by the amount of dust that had accumulated on it, it had been there for weeks, if not months. After three hours, the tech was still having trouble getting this done. Overhauling a printer, balanced on the edge of the customer's desk is just asinine! I had him take the printer back to the shop, and we installed the parts and returned the printer. When testing, we realized that the sensor for the lid was missing. When my tech returned to the site, he found it under the desk.
He installed the missing sensor, and now the printer reported a jam in the lower tray. Since we were told they were sending another printer, Barrister told my technician to leave.
NOW, we get a bill for $625.00 that is going to be deducted from our Barrister pay. We of course, will be rushing right out to perform $625.00 worth of services for free. The printer in question is a HP 4350, one of the worst printers HP has built, and is readily available on the internet for $400.00 new.
Go ahead and work for these bitches. I have two ex-wives just like them. Greedy, selfish bitches, who want you to work your a*s off for them, and give you nothing in return.
